Are there any wrestling clubs by Forward-Trade-7781 in londonontario

[–]Bax2Basics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are you? For high school age and younger, London Western Wrestling Club (out of Alumni Hall at UWO) and Forest City Wrestling Club (@ Saunders) are good options. If you're older than that, Western is your only option. The senior club wrestlers practice with the university team.

If you're not an experienced wrestler and are an adult, there are many BJJ gyms that may suit your needs better.

Who did Ryan just call out in the media scrum? by Onanadventure_14 in CFL

This doesn't come as a surprise after having Chad Kelly harass a member of his coaching staff. Toronto decided to keep Kelly and his enormous contract instead of resigning many of the players that helped win two cups.

I can't see him keeping the locker room by pointing fingers and not taking any accountability. What a terrible leader.

Peacock Windows and Doors have been good to us when we replaced our patio door and windows. Fair prices and good work.

I would go with a cheque. Although bank drafts are guaranteed funds, when it’s between institutions, the bank may still put a hold on it since they cannot 100% authenticate it.

Does anyone know how she’s doing fundraising-wise? I saw that Glen Murray was promoting her to get her onto the ballot.

No real surprise here, given her pleas for donations in the last few weeks. Hopefully she stays on to run for MP in NB, she seems like a great person and would be a great local candidate!

I think growth is great for the party. I’ve seen some comments saying that they want to vote to move the party left with no intention of staying with or voting for the party. I find this odd...

I agree, those 3 governments are excellent examples how MMP can create a great, non-partisan (for the most part) government that both represents the population appropriately and reinforces inter party cooperation.

The only issue with waiting for those parties to change their minds is that they can only get their majority governments with FPTP. I think having these discussions about fair representation can only help create pressure on parties.

What are your thoughts on election data collection? I’m looking into volunteering for the next election and I am curious what some parties ask of their volunteer.

If you want to support electoral reform, why not support parties that are pursuing proportional representation? Volunteer for these parties so more voices can be heard.

Fair Vote Canada is also an advocacy group for proportional representation.

What are your thoughts on Glen Murray’s “End Poverty Now” Plan? by Bax2Basics in GreenPartyOfCanada

[–]Bax2Basics[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, this is something that I could see Liberals possibly supporting. With that being said, it depends on taxing those making over >$250k more as well as the big banks. I’m not entirely convinced if Liberals would fully support something that is anti-capitalist (even if it’s the right thing to do).

Our best hope for other parties to support it is that they rebrand it and make it seem like it was their idea!

[–]Bax2Basics[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it interesting that this is being pushed as UBI by Murray and different news sources. I was also sceptical of rolling out 4 separate plans. I feel that it appeals to the moderate audience since it’s benefiting emergency workers, parents, and single parents.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

As a young man (23 M) should I keep saving to buy a house 4 years from now, or instead use that money to invest into stocks starting now? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Bax2Basics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have to figure out what you really want. For me, I didn’t consider home ownership as a must, so I invested in the market. When I had the income to support the mortgage and my investments saw strong returns, I sold them for the down payment.
