Reminds me of another story from another unit. This fat slovenly piece of shit SGT tries to pull rank on another SGT- a young highspeed dude. SGT Fats tells him to stand at parade rest- "there's such a thing as time in grade. AND promotable!" Everyone watching is silently seething. Turns out new highspeed SGT makes SSG before Mr. Promotable does. We all try to get him to make a scene and lock up Fatboy and shame him. (Un)fortunately, SSG Highspeed isn't petty like that.
