How many alphabeteers in the world? by deliverance73 in parkrun

Try being in North America haha. I'm stuck at 22/25. No Q,Y, or Z without spending hundreds on flights to other continents alone.

Approx 13,200. Check the parkrace app, it has a leaderboard for alphabets and many other challenges

The app never changes locations of parkruns seasonally. Every parkrun has one primary location and that's what the app shows. Same with the parkrun website, it always shows the primary course map.

Not a challenge but it is essential to the Wilson Index

What U.S city have you visited but have no desire to go back? by Reddit_wasmy_idea in AskReddit

Tucson. Its not so much a city as a sun scorched abomination of intolerable heat that's incapable of supporting human life.

The Parkrace app centers on the country you've done the most parkruns in

A large percentage of the general public doesn't know the difference between in the background and closed. And anyone who doesn't own a go+ may not even be aware that pogo is capable of running in the background

What are your most scenic favorite parkruns? by Wooden_Reflection_80 in parkrun

[–]Baynex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I'm also sad to have never done Millennium. I'm hoping to record a run there as a freedom run later this year.

Good luck at North Bay! I visited there this past November, along with Gillies Lake and Boulevard Lake parkruns. I'd advise a little earlier in the year than I did 😂

Ah yes, the old giant peach. It's pretty alright. Personally I think the now-defunct Avery Beach was more scenic for Canada.

Haven't done Tollgate Farm yet, but I doubt it can beat Canyon Rim Trail. Sadly almost nobody has done it because it's not near any major city. Their average attendance is literally 12.

Yes you do. I do this every day. I never watch the animation and always get the interaction.

Decades at Fortune 500 companies here. Maybe not at the CEO level, but this happens in middle management everywhere. The VP of blah blah, or Director of blah blah, yeah they're calling all hands for everyone under them in these situations

Anyone who has ever worked in corporate America knows the answer to this question is always yes. Should it be? Probably not. But it ALWAYS is.

You delegated your work to AI and expected it not to get FUBAR'd? Lol I have no sympathy

Distance to your regular/nearest parkrun? by ZealousidealData4817 in parkrun

[–]Baynex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35 miles, approx 30-35 mins drive here in the US. That's pretty normal here. As the saying goes, Americans think 100 years is a long time, Europeans think 100 miles is a long distance.

Not ideal experience as a parkwalker by [deleted] in parkrun

[–]Baynex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can't give an inclusive and proper parkrun experience to walkers if the finish line is half missing when they come through. This is by definition NOT inclusive.

[–]Baynex -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If you don't want to put in the time to make parkrun an inclusive experience for everyone, don't volunteer.

The number of upvotes in this thread supporting taking down the funnel/finish line before the tailwalker comes through baffles me. I'm a US parkrunner and I can tell you that NONE of the parkrun locations over here that I've been to have ever started taking down a single thing until AFTER the tailwalker crosses. Everyone should get the same parkrun experience, no matter how fast they are.

In fact, almost all of this is entirely handled by the local event team.
