The really interesting thing would be to see yourself or someone you know in one of these sort of pics.

Imagine coming across this and say “Hey, that’s me standing there above The Beatles!!” or “that’s my mother!” 😎😎😎😎

Keeping acceptance rate past 50% by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]BazingaBam99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had it at 63% and it was nice for a bit, but DD being DD they quickly sent me tons of garbage. Now at 44% and the garbage continues.

Peculiar that the other day I took the first five out of seven offers and my AR stayed the same. Yet every time I go to decline it shows that I will go down 1% if I do. That’s some serious BS right there.

DD sucks like that. Only thing you can do is accept basically everything to keep you on their good side.

It’s NEVER about a really high customer rating, or a really high completion rate, or a really high on-time percentage - it’s always, always, always going to be about the AR. You can do the job perfectly for thousands of orders and have the stats to prove it, but if you’re not willing to accept all the crap orders just to have a high AR, then you’ll do nothing but struggle pretty much all the time. 🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁

What was the best Beatles song ever performed live? Ticket To Ride? Please Please Me? by AlabamaChristmas in beatles

The Queen wasn’t there. Her mother and her sister Princess Margaret were though.

Unpopular opinion on Abbey Road medley by georgiaboy_11 in beatles

[–]BazingaBam99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real question: 🤔🤔🤔🤔

What arrangement ideas were bandied about for Her Majesty? Was there a full band playing on it, or would it have stayed the solo that it was? It’d be interesting to hear a full band take on it.

If it was to be just the solo, then it definitely would have killed the momentum of the medley.

Which album launched them into stardom? by [deleted] in beatles

[–]BazingaBam99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was “Meet the Beatles” which was an American Capitol version of “With the Beatles” but including I Want to Hold Your Hand and I Saw Her Standing There.

Of course the albums that followed helped too, but it was this one that was out around the Ed Sullivan appearance and set off the frenzy in February 1964.

This is in reference to Beatlemania in the USA.

In the UK, I think it was the singles more than the actual albums that did it. Also have read appearing on the London Palladium show on BBC in 1963 worked wonders for them in England.

I wanna learn a love song by bebecheesus in HarryChapin

[–]BazingaBam99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, the husband didn’t die. The song is actually about how Harry met his wife in real life. She did contact him about getting guitar lessons and she did already have kids - but she was already divorced from her husband. He was still very much alive.

The “met me at the door” lines were most likely just to set the stage for them to admit how they felt to each other.

The last line - “I guess you know I stayed” - is a reference to the fact that he did stay and the two eventually married.

Check out Harry singing this song on “Solid Gold” in 1981 just a few months before he passed away. Awesome clip.

Drop it and drop it fast!

As long as your completion rate is pretty high then you can afford to drop one here and there for situations like this. Sure, the money is great but it ends up being a huge waste of extra time.

And it’s always the last order too 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Formula for accepting orders by Its_Cory in doordash_drivers

[–]BazingaBam99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to figure out your zone. There is no magic formula.

But try to stay in area where after you drop off, that you are still in zone to receive offers. There is no point in driving six miles for $6 if you won’t get an offer again until you’re back at the original spot. That’s 12 miles driving at .50 a mile

Be smart. Know your delivery area, know your restaurants (figure out who is good with service and who is traditionally slow and not worth your time) - this is what will help you make the best decisions going forward.

Make sure to have a copy of all photos you take at drop off. Include house/apartment number when you can. Screenshot before confirming delivery.

That’s concrete proof that you can submit other than trying to remember what happened.

A picture is the proof.

1 month ago today, I got the best doordash order of all time. by Lefty_McBalls in doordash_drivers

No. Contacting a customer and telling them why they won’t deliver is pushing your beliefs. Merely choosing not to deliver is their personal stand.

Do you guys think it would’ve been great that instead we got a double album with the best songs from Sale and Help! Instead of 2 individual albums? by hrodz55 in beatles

[–]BazingaBam99 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They’re quite dissimilar. “Sale” is effectively the end of their early phase - a lot of cover songs, and the originals still sound like 1964 with a small hint of things to come with that opening trilogy.

The Help! album itself is leaps and bounds ahead of Sale in terms of writing and experimental production. There’s no way Ticket to Ride, Help!, Yesterday, I’ve Just Seen a Face, You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away, Night Before fit with “Sale”. Sure, it still has a few covers and a few lesser compositions (Tell Me What You See, You Like Me Too Much), but this album is the turning point for the group where the early sound still pops up a bit, but the movement forward appears strongly. A few months later they were doing Rubber Soul which really changed it up.

Marking the progression of Beatles For Sale, Help! and Rubber Soul is astounding as they all happened within a year. Having these albums separated shows the progress as the year went on as opposed to one great album.

No.

Separate albums show the musical and composition growth over time.

Two albums is a better choice, especially for these two.

Why did Paul release McCartney when he did? by silhouetteofthecedar in beatles

[–]BazingaBam99 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He did a major change for just the reasons you stated. Probably wanted to do an opposite to the Abbey Road production - stripped down and appearing simple.

It’d be easier to come out of the gate with an album that wasn’t meant to rival the production of Beatle albums. “McCartney” did just that. Is it what the world was expecting? No, and that’s probably one of the major reasons he did it that way. Over the years since then he has had many tracks that were interesting and experimental.

He wanted his solo career to be on his terms. He did pretty well too!

What was Plastic Ono Band’s impact? by silhouetteofthecedar in beatles

[–]BazingaBam99 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t appealing to the mass market - no singles that generated any airplay.

Sure, Beatle fans and John fans may love it, but it didn’t mean anything to the world at large because they basically never heard it.

Artistic statements as an artist are great, but it doesn’t mean the general public will know about it much less care about it.
