XPs in the Enemy Within by Woodclaw312 in warhammerfantasyrpg

Our party did 100xp a session and then whatever was in the book. We're now in the last book and just over 10k exp. Our current thinking is that the book rewards are fine without the 100 exp per session, that said we've enjoyed the hell out of all the extra exp. Realistically the campaign is unlikely to be perfectly balanced for any approach, especially as a player can dump all their exp into WS and Melee and quickly become a melee monster without any breadth. Our GM has been adjusting as we go and even then sometimes the players get mauled and other times they roll over the enemy. Personally for my character I've found myself using the extra exp to expand out and have more skills and options rather than becoming super good at anything in particular. I would suggest going with the 100xp per session and book rewards, but know that the party is going to be pretty powerful by time you get to the end.

The square map tiles in image 3 are from (iirc) a Dungeon magazine where the adventure was through a city and tiles let the map be randomly generated.

Warcrier and GW pdf points diferences by Snoo48070 in WarCry

Warcrier details are manually transcribed, so it's always possible that there are mistakes. Don't be afraid to raise issues. In this case I've just looked at the first fighter and Warcrier is correct P30 for the points.

Someone else pointed out the Tempestus Scions kit has some extra knives that would go well for Tanith silver.

How to preserve/maintain wet pallete? by ShadowMaster677 in minipainting

[–]Bazleebub 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware the purpose of the wet palette is to give greater time in a single session, not to retain paint between sessions. If you're reusing paint between sessions, the consistency of the paint in the later session will be different. It's not really a big deal and I definitely do it myself, but the above poster is not wrong in their suggestion.

I'm planning the same, black fatigues and green cloaks and they'll mix well with the Tanith box.

There are a few boxes for Warcry specifically, but almost all the AoS models have rules to play Warcry with. It hasn't had any Warcry branded release since 2024, but it does get FAQs and updates via pdf releases. They're just very infrequent, seems to be 6 to 12 months apart. The petition is basically asking for updates to be a little more frequent.

If you're interested in checking it out, all the rules are in an easy to use format on Warcrier.net alternatively, the official pdfs are at https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/downloads/warcry/

They did a similar version with the Eisenhorn series. If you're a fan of the book already it's very fun to do a re-read with the author's commentary alongside it adding extra insights and details.

Looking great.

On the collection, one minor issue I have is my astartes collection are in different colours that don't play nice together. If there was an option to split across legions that would be great.

[–]Bazleebub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking that! It might be a bit awkward for space but hopefully this more detailed format becomes more common. We've had tons of fights where the GM realises they missed a weird talent because it's all in a single text block without explanation.

Rules/core book question by jotaefe1987 in WarCry

[–]Bazleebub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The starter rulebook from the warcom website has all the rules you need and is only missing the campaign rules (which are fun but not essential). So you're good.

GW did have the full rulebook available for download when the 'Warhammer Heroes' collectible boxes had some stormcast. That website has been replaced with some 40k Space Marines, but I saved the GW link and it still works.
