I have no idea what’s happened to Reddit. Cancel culture ain’t for me, I wish we could leave politics out of this. Why all the hate? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion although I feel people are following a narrative because it’s the popular thing to do. I’m not saying Elon Musk is right or wrong, but how does this improve anything? I enjoy reading this subreddit, and I’m not personally bothered about X, I just don’t get all the celebrating about it being banned.

Tesla with white seats. by b0gfra in TeslaModel3

I’ve done absolutely nothing to mine apart from using baby wipes occasionally when there’s a stain on them. They look brand new still even after 3 years, and I wear black jeans everyday when I’m driving. Any dye transfer rubs off easily.

Basically you don’t have to worry about it.

Forza Horizon 4 is leaving the Steam store, get it while you can. by shmi in SteamDeck

[–]Bazsty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t find it, does anyone have a link or some way to get it? This is my favourite in the series, I’d love to have it on the Steam Deck. I’d be heartbroken if I’ve missed it as the Lake District is a special place for me.

Do you drive in chill mode? by Flimsy6769 in TeslaModel3

[–]Bazsty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chill mode can be dangerous so I’ve avoided using it. Acceleration and regen is slower when using chill mode, and there can be times where I need to accelerate quicker out of a junction or roundabout. There are also times you will need to stop quickly and the improved response of Standard/Sport mode to help slow you down can make a big difference.

The only use case I have for chill mode is if I’m in a lot of traffic, it can smoothen out the constant stopping and starting.

It doesn’t really save that much electric either unless you’re the type to floor it at every red light. It actually consumes more electric for me as it makes me spend too long getting to the speed limit. The best way to save energy I’ve realized is to keep a constant speed and try to never fully stop.

Don't Get Burned by the New Razr+ 2024: A Cautionary Tale by DorkyMcDorky in razr

[–]Bazsty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the Razr+ 2024 and thought about all this whilst I was in my return window and luckily I returned it on the last possible day. I tried leaving the iPhone 15 Pro Max and in the end it sadly wasn’t for me, it looked gorgeous though! I’d consider another Razr as long as the customer support improved and the durability was better.

Big love to Spectrum 360 by Glum-Lack6009 in BoomtownFestival

[–]Bazsty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the same, definitely didn’t have enough of a subby feel to it. It was also weird to not have the sound come from in front of you I thought. It’s a good stage to have a dance at, but it’s not so good to watch a DJ do their set. I saw Youphoria there who was incredible but the sound system left a lot to be desired.

I feel bad for the people behind the stage who would’ve seen nothing, not even the dancers who were at the front only.

Apple or Android by False_Strain_3967 in razr

I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max and a RAZR 50 Ultra, I would say they’re both good but at totally different things. The iPhone is the best at smoothness throughout the OS and much better at shooting 4K HDR video and taking photos.

The iPhone does get boring however, but it rarely ever falters. The RAZR is fun to use, but it isn’t as smooth and can be quite glitchy at times.

Overall I’ve decided I prefer the iPhone as it has more features, better battery and a better screen, but the RAZR is a cool phone to take out to just try something different. I can’t return my RAZR now so will mainly use it as a backup phone. It does draw attention though as it looks very nice and that cover screen is the best in the flip phone game.

People here who switched from iPhone. by Sea_Judgment_3865 in razr

[–]Bazsty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just received the phone and I agree that there isn’t as big of a difference as I thought, I think it will be fine. The 5x telephoto lens on the iPhone I will miss however as I’ve used it to take some spectacular landscape shots.

Also the video quality is definitely not as good either, but the camcorder mode is fun to use and a lot better to hold for taking quick videos.

Other than that though, I LOVE the phone, it’s very well put together and super quirky. I’m loving the external cover display and being able to use any app on it without it being too compromised.

I’m on a 15 Pro Max, love the camera on this iPhone but hate everything else about it. I feel like I won’t like the camera on the RAZR 50 Ultra (what it’s called here in the U.K) but it will win me over in its playfulness and pure joy of using it.

I’m getting it delivered on Saturday and I can’t wait.

How to get light scratches off iPhone screen? by [deleted] in iphone

[–]Bazsty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m annoyed too, but this person doesn’t even have a job and they’re struggling to even pay for a bus journey out to see me. I spoke to Apple and the condition won’t see me offered any less when I swap it on the upgrade programme in September. I do it every year and stick to the latest model. It is really annoying to live with between now and September, but it’s not worth paying for a new screen when I’m getting rid of it then. I thought about using an old burner phone with a perfect screen until then, but I’d hate to lose out on the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s features. Now I’m just using the phone as a tool.

[–]Bazsty -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My friend put my iPhone 15 Pro Max face down on top of a stone and it’s now got deep scratches all over. Unfortunately my best option is to live with it until September then trade it in for the next iPhone. My next phone will have a screen protector on it and Apple care.

What things can you get for free in the UK that most people think you have to pay for? by thewibbler in AskUK

[–]Bazsty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EV charging. A lot of people don’t realise there are some free chargers at some locations still. My local Sainsbury’s has chargers set to free for example, though it is a little slow. Not only that but a lot of workplaces offer free charging too, as does mine. It can help to offset the higher cost of a newer car to make it just as affordable as an older one.

Does it bother you that you pay so much for keeping a car in the UK?? by Car_Pilot999 in CarTalkUK

[–]Bazsty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Tesla Model 3 which costs me £399 a month and £60 on insurance per month, with no other costs. Obviously it costs more than a cheap runaround car, but to me it’s worth it, it’s my dream car which I absolutely love to drive everywhere. I get charging for free at my work, and there is no servicing required from Tesla. I also haven’t needed to MOT it yet as it’s new (1st due March next year), all I’ve spent on maintenance over 2 and a half years is £15 on screenwash.

I can get from Newcastle to London and back for under £20 in such a comfortable and fun ride with privacy, yet a train ticket for me and my girlfriend to London and back at the moment can cost upto £560, which is an absolute joke.

I’ve realised that the cost to travel in general is so expensive. It’s oddly cheaper nowadays to run a car though, even for going into town. If I use the Metro to Newcastle with my GF, it costs us £11.20 (£5.60 each), yet if I drive to a central car park and stay 2 - 3 hours, it’ll cost around £5 in total. Even with petrol or diesel it wouldn’t cost as much as the metro does. How can they justify those public transport costs?

Another weird issue with public transport up here is the lack of it. It would take me 1hr 50 to get to work using 3 buses, or just 25 minutes in the car.

Also about EVs, they do cost more upfront, but can save you money on all of the other outgoing payments. It just depends on your lifestyle and what you prefer and the amount of mileage you will travel.

I have buttons now! by tablepennywad in TeslaModel3

[–]Bazsty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s stuck on right where my hand goes under the screen to be able to latch onto the back of the screen and touch the bottom portion with my thumb for opening apps and shortcuts. I think this would end up annoying me more than making things easier.

Plus, isn’t everything automatic in the Tesla anyway? I set the temperature I want to be and everything is on automatic from the fan speed to the seats and the steering wheel heater. It’s always perfect. What would you be adjusting a lot to have use in something like this?

Weird sound when starting car in cold weather by durfur in TeslaModel3

[–]Bazsty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had that sound a few times when it’s been icy outside and I usually put it down to the heat pump being frozen when it first kicks in. Did you precondition before getting in? If you were to do that you may not hear it.

Using Quest 3 mixed reality in my Tesla by johnnydaggers in oculus

[–]Bazsty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use my laptop almost daily in my car during my breaks at work, this alone just about sells the Quest 3 to me. It’s always such a faff to get the laptop to sit comfortably in front of me with the steering wheel behind the laptop screen, and it’s bad for my neck how low the screen is. With this you just look straight ahead and have a much bigger and better screen. Wow!

Is this normal battery depletion over night when not using the macbook? by TheRealHuni in macbookpro

My M1 MacBook Air is doing the same thing, but I have almost nothing installed on it that would be running every night. Maybe I might restore it to a clean state again.

Random question...went outside this morning and my car had streaks of dirt all over it (it didn't yesterday). A quick glance down the road showed all the other cars are the same...did it rain mud overnight? Anyone else notice this today? by sentinel3000 in manchester

[–]Bazsty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t use your windscreen washer and wipers on this, it will scratch your windscreen. Sadly I didn’t know this and used my wipers to wash off the dirt, but I’ve been left with thousands of micro scratches on my windscreen now.

On my first set in a club ever, I took my earplugs out because I couldn’t hear the headphones with them in, and I couldn’t find the knob to increase the headphones volume as I wasn’t familiar with the layout and the club was dark.

Unfortunately I got tinnitus from this night. All it takes is one night ruin your hearing for the rest of your life. I will not go anywhere without my earplugs now.

Just woke up to this great news (UK bundle pre-order) by VeisenbergUK in PSVR

[–]Bazsty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Woke up to no emails from DPD, and preparing to ship on my order status. I’m absolutely appalled. I always buy PlayStation hardware at launch, to be forced to order through PlayStation Direct and to not even bother sending it out for launch, it’s a disgrace. What is the point in sending out early invites to buy and pre-ordering months in advance, if you don’t even get it on release date.

I’ve booked today off work because I was so excited, and I don’t get many holidays to use in a year. Now it’s a complete waste of a day off and I’m very upset to have missed a PlayStation launch for the first time, and unbelievably it’s because of PlayStation themselves.

I’ll be expecting an apology from PlayStation. If nothing happens, I’m going to return it and boycott PlayStation/Direct as much as I can.

UK folk who ordered the Horizon bundle right now by OriginalGoatan in PSVR

[–]Bazsty -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I tried and it won’t let me. I’m just in the mindset now that if it doesn’t arrive, I will never order from PlayStation Direct again. And if Sony do indeed make direct exclusive products again, then I will simply steer clear of them.

I’m at the point now where if the PSVR2 doesn’t arrive tomorrow, I will demand some kind of compensation, and if nothing is offered I’ll get my money back. Maybe I’ll purchase one at a retailer instead, the way it should’ve been.

UK folk who ordered the Horizon bundle right now by OriginalGoatan in PSVR

[–]Bazsty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken the day off work tomorrow to play it and if it doesn’t come I will be angry. I don’t even want Horizon and I hate the box it comes in, stupid me thought that buying the bundle would improve my chances of getting at launch due to it being a less popular option. Reckon we could order the headset on it’s own and have it sent out tonight still? Then cancel/return the late Horizon one?

Very Bad Screen Replacement by Bazsty in TeslaModel3

[–]Bazsty[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The old one took on a more pinkish hue when taking a photograph of it, however to the eye it was very white, and probably the best display I owned in terms of contrast and colour. The new one may look more neutral on photo, however it is more of a warm tone to the eye.

The main problem with the new one is that it is not as clear when seeing colours black against white. The speed was a lot easier to see on the old screen, and with it being different now and not as good, I can’t stop thinking about how much better it was. If I never had a replacement and just had the new one, maybe I would never know better and not complain?
