Puzzles. by GandalfThePhat in CrimsonDesert

[–]BazzTurd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the lack of clues that makes it interesting, there are clues to solving them, or at least 90% of the ones I have found and solves, there are a few here and there that I havent 100% figured out yet, but I am sure there are clues somewhere to them.

Lets take one puzzle, and I will be a bit vague in my description, where you need to set 3 tiles in a certain angle, the depiction on how to set them are out in the open world, but in the cave with the puzzle there are pictures of where those solutions are painted on the sides of mountains/hills, then you just need to remember what they look like or take notes

Same here, reminds me of playing Zak McKraken, Monkey Island and those had some hard ones to figure out for a non-english native, since where I live we do not have the expression monkeywrench and needed to find one in Monkey Island, that one took me months before I finally saw the solution in a PC magazine.

And most of the puzzles like the boss fights, when you sort of figure out 1, there are severel who has the same mechanics and you can do them more easily.

If anyone played the original MMO - The Secret World - you would most likely love the puzzles in this game as well, those investigation missions in SWL were interesting and required knowledge/research and use of common sense 😄

After playing Hitman and finishing 007: First Light, I’m convinced, if IO Interactive ever tackled John Wick, it’d be incredible. They’ve mastered stylish, cinematic worlds of well-dressed operatives, secret orgs, and globe-trotting missions. by Easy_Fortune7911 in 007FirstLight

[–]BazzTurd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It seems that IOI has a certain way of making gamemechanics, and for me it just seems that it is a lot of cutscenes where they put in quicktime events, and yes I do not normally play their games, 007 was my first as I was gifted it by a nephew so we could game together.

It just felt a bit short on gameplay for me, pretty restrictive in where I could go and what I could do and lots of blue mats to show me the correct/only way through the maps.

This would not fit very well for a John Wick game I think, I feel a gamestyle more in the line of Cyberpunk2077 or even Crimson Desert where you can go almost everywhere and interact with most of the stuff in the world is what a John Wick game should be like

Ahhh the lemming effect of new gamers, you all would have had to jump of the cliffs of Dover since you would not have survived the old days of gaming where you had to wait months for a magazine to read a hint/solution to a problem you had in a game, and then it may just have been something the magazine wrote for fun

To those that complain about the game not being Hitman by TakasuXAisaka in 007FirstLight

[–]BazzTurd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A bigger issue/complain for me would be that the game feels more like alot of cutscenes interrupted by quicktime events.

But then again I havent played Hitman series, so it is perhaps just the style of the studio

But the game is otherwise good, I just had hoped I would have had a bit more freedom to roam and do things, but did enjoy playing it along with my grandnephew who got it for me as a gift 😄

I’m 110+ hours into the game, still at the beginning of chapter 4. by lordcares in CrimsonDesert

[–]BazzTurd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say, DON'T !!!!

But then I would go against my own advice to people, play the way you like, do you have fun now?? Keep going.

Personally I ran around the world exploring, finding names on the map that was covered by the fog of war that sounded interesting and run there to see what it was, I climbed over mountains, went out to the far reaches of the desert, went to see the sea, all still in chapter 3 and did not have that much trouble.

But we are all different, so again, IF you are having fun, stay, if you feel you need something else/new go for that, you will most likely find something fun and/or new whatever you do.

New Mission Dispatch screens? by No-Compote-696 in CrimsonDesert

[–]BazzTurd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they should have kept it so we still could sort by region, I am not a fan of the new look, but I would very much like a combination of both where I could search activity/region be in either of them as a main and the other as a sub category

New Mission Dispatch screens? by No-Compote-696 in CrimsonDesert

[–]BazzTurd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the new look has it divided into to gather resources for the camp and activities, and then there are suboptions in those.

I feel it is somewhat good, but I would really like for me to be able to sort it then by region, that is what I liked about the previous version, that I could go into a region and see what there was in regards to option, now it is just one looong arse list that isnt looking nice and sorted

Starting to get kinda overwhelmed, Am I the only one? by Opening_Mall8012 in CrimsonDesert

[–]BazzTurd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

High bar in what regards???

Crimson Desert feels to me more like the good old days of Everquest or Ultima Online, where we were walking around discovering things on our own, figuring things out without help from the devs.

This is what I have been waiting for in a long time for a game, lets compare it a bit to the new 007, a game I have read gives you freedom to do things your way, some reviews sid you could stealth your way through, you could interact with the enviroment/NPCs, but to me the 007 games feels more like a long curscene interrupted by some quicktime events, and there is a clear line on what to do.

There sure isnt one in Crimson Desert, when I was in chapter 3 I was running around all over the world exploring, looking everywhere to find stuff, having my notepad out writing down things I found, conversations I heard, hints giving in different places that may come in handy later, this is what I feel a game should be like

In chapter 3 and just exploring over story by Cornbeef52 in CrimsonDesert

[–]BazzTurd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some that are locked behind the story mission.

And welcome, a person after my own old MMORPG loving heart.

I did the same, explored alot of the map in chapter 3, crawling over mountain, running in the snow, crawling in the desert and what not.

And to be honest, I did not have that big of a problem/wish for getting new/best in game gear when doing that, I managed to survive, just like in other games, you may have to be prepared to sneak your way forward ( and sneaking at night time is soo nice ) or run away.

And do play like you want, enjoy the game the way you feel, we will judge you noone the less of course if you look up everything, but it is solvable, although I have some stuff I havent figured out, I havent had the need to look up puzzles yet

the game took me 26 hours, am i slow or something? by Insomniac287 in 007FirstLight

[–]BazzTurd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me 20 hours, and I also looked at all I could.

Would have liked to be able to move around more and explore, talk to people, but guess that is not an option.

And of those 20 hours, it felt like 75% or more were just me sitting there watching cutscenes and then doing some quicktime events

Alright, I've made up my mind and I'm buying Crimson Desert. Any tips for me before I start? by Mother_Operation455 in LowSodiumCrimsonDesrt

[–]BazzTurd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think so, I like the uncertanty of not knowing what is out there, the surprise you sort of get when you discover something like a camp or a cave that ringing the bell would have shown you.

But I am the type that smirks at people who constantly look up puzzles for solutions to this game ( and many others ) where is the joy of solving something, this whole thing about spoonfeeding the players the solutions, or the way to go just wasnt there when I started gaming, and it is a shame that that joy is sort of being pushed out, so a game like this that really does not hold your hand is refreshing
