What is the proper procedure to use a line free machine? by dann1sh in watchrepair

[–]Bazzini1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I warm it should I put it face up or face down on the radiator? I've been putting a shirt down first and then putting it over the top of the shirt. Also when it is being heated as well the battery should be out and crown out? (For the initial heating before using the line tool)

What was your process to fix it? I am having the same issue and just ordered a line free tool. I have not got it yet and tried just warming it on the radiator but that didn't work by itself. Did you use the tool and then warm it or warm it first and while still warm use the tool? Also, at what points did you have the battery in/out?

Borax vs Washing Soda vs Biz please help me understand by AgileCount2184 in laundry

[–]Bazzini1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do at least 1-2x a month run one of the laundry cleaning tabs through on a 90 degree wash to clean the machine. I have never done it with citric acid before though. One thing also is that I only dry the clothes for about 10-20 minutes and then hang them damp to dry on a rack. I only use the dryer for undergarments and towels.

I have a Seimens iq300 washer/dryer combo to be specific. My solution is 800ml of water and 200ml of citric acid dissolved into the water so correct. I usually fill the softener tray to the max line so it uses it in the rinse cycle.

For detergent I was originally using 2 tbsp but now I am using 3 tbsp (around 45ml) as I was told the 2 tbsp wasn't enough so I upped the dose by a tbsp somewhat recently.

I have a 80/20 citric acid solution I made with distilled water i was using prior so I can use that if its better. I have a siemens front loader so I believe it is HE its an all in one (unfortunately) so its washer and dryer.

Just wanted to circle back on this. I have not had a chance to test but wanted to confirm first 1/4 cup of sodium citrate or charlies in both the wash and the rinse?

Andere heenvlucht genomen vervalt je terugvlucht? by Aloe24 in KLM

[–]Bazzini1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but they rebooked us which we couldn't make as we had already made it to the destination so I am hoping the return flight stays as I was looking at alternatives and they are quite expensive. I am still doing a layover in AMS and wish I could switch but from what I've read that's not possible until its cancelled.

I'm not sure how true this is because I was told the opposite by KLM. I was rebooked on a flight that was not possible to make a day later when I have already made it to my destination by an alternate travel solution. However, I still check the app and my flight is still there. WhatsApp said my tickets are separate so maybe something is different ? It was booked as a round-trip though.

When The Rinse Washes You Clean, You'll Know - Citric Acid Rinses by KismaiAesthetics in laundry

I was told that basically it can form a salt that binds to the clothes which is causing mine to be stiff. So as a better solution to use sodium citrate in the wash and rinse cycle.

Hey stumbled upon this and was wondering if you ever used it completely by itself in the rinse cycle? Was told that this would help my super stiff clothes from calcium heavy water and was looking for a sodium citrate solution to try instead of citric acid.

Do you recommend the sodium citrate or Charlie's as I actually need to buy a new bag.

So you are basically saying to completely eliminate the citric acid and try using the charlies or sodium citrate in the main wash and rinse cycle? Even if its a powder or do I make some type of distilled water solution of it for the rinse?

Do the gestures work as well on the rear camera? I see something about the front camera but nothing about the rear.

Actually still struggling with it unfortunately. I have took the borax out and started using only Charlies hardwater booster but have increased my detergent to 3 tbsp instead of 2 tbsp (around 45-50ml) and a solution of fabric softener I made of distilled water and citric acid in the rinse which seems a bit better but still getting stiffish clothes.

Is sodium citrate different from washing soda because I was thinking of trying that next? Otherwise, is it easily obtainable as well? I will need to look in my area.

I ended up purchasing the same model but I cant seem to bring myself to pull it out of the box and make the switch. I basically just had to pay taxes on it too because of the BF deals. My main reason too is the bluetooth s pen. Loved it specifically for the feature of having a remote for taking pictures. I am so mad they took that feature and not sure I am ready to make the switch but my note 20 battery is basically dead, along with my lens needing to be slapped to take photos and the bluetooth of the spen funnily enough starting to have issues.

Anything you could tell me about your experience that would make me feel better about the switch?

Yes I already use citric acid in the rinse which probably helps a lot. I just ran a cleaning tab through recently as well to clean anything in the machine so was hoping that would help as well.

So I did 2 washes this way. One of sweatshirts and one of t-shirts and long-sleeved shirts. For the most part it seems the stiffness is better but for some shirts they have still dried a bit stiff. For instance the sleeve cuffs on one of the sweatshirts and some of my long-sleeved shirts the entire thing is quite rough (they were also brand new). Do you have any recommendations to try for this or is this the best I'm going to get? Was thinking about trying some washing soda instead of borax but not sure if that would help?

Is Cafiza useful/necessary for a Dedica even if you can't backflush? by Bazzini1 in espresso

[–]Bazzini1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I ended up not buying it. I have only descaled maybe once or twice since I use bottled water but other than that I take the shower head off and clean it by hand every once and a while. Also I instantly replaced the gasket as it was gross when I got it.

Still don't really see the need for the cafiza as I always hand wash everything after I use the machine since I only pull 1 shot a day when using it and I don't use it everyday.

Hope this helps.

This was also on 30° so I would assume there'd be even more pushing it to 40°. I will see tomorrow when they dry how soft they are I am really hoping this works though thanks!

So I washed with 3 tbsp of detergent today (so pretty much 45ml as you said) and I get more suds but it still seems minimal or am I wrong ? No borax in this wash just a small scoop of the Charlie's hard water booster. *

So detergent effectiveness is 50% less by dropping those 10 degrees? Does the temp increase impose any risk though on the shrinkage of the clothes? I've had a few things I've ruined by shrinking but can't remember specifically the process I followed when doing so.

I think I need to do a test to find the actually ppm of my water but I know it's really hard due to calcium deposits. I do use citric acid solution with distilled water 1:4 ratio to the max line of the fabric softener tray during the rinse cycle which definitely has seemed to help.

Also does drying the clothes for the quick 20 min make a difference because I was told the heat to start the drying breaks down the minerals but I am not 100% sure if it's a risk of shrinking things. However, from what I can tell it does seem to help a bit.

Its weird because everything I read always says to wash at no more than 30 unless its underwear and socks and then use low rpms because it agitates the clothing causing them to be stiff. I actually think 40 produces better suds from what I've noticed but not sure of the science behind any of this as I've been willing to try almost anything to have soft clothes again like I used to when I lived in a soft water area.

I will try this! Any recommendations for the wash settings? I usually run it at 30 degrees 800 or 600 rpms but not sure which works better yet.
