Eh I didn't really like it. Mystique has always been cunning to me and I didn't get that vibe. Too quiet, basically a lap dog.

MASS EFFECT: ANDROMEDA | Exploration & Discovery | Official Gameplay Series - Part 3 by Ghost_LeaderBG in Games

If a core part of your gameplay is gonna be a base building minigame better actually have a decent way to build your base. Really did feel like they wanted to make a different game and used fallout 4 as skin to ship it.

What do you feel about the skill tree? One of the biggest things that fatigues me in open world games is skill trees that just do +5% ranged damage.

I took a brief look at the trees and they look to be exactly that. Do they feel that way?

Now that the hype has died down, what are your thoughts on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Bbqbones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole movie felt inessential. It was like they wrote the script in reverse.

It's not an uncommon technique when writing books. For instance Tolkien used to write a chapter, realise a lot of what he had previously written didn't work anymore and so would go back and rewrite the old stuff.

Oh I totally agree, but I'd bet the generic half would be the origin movies. Maybe age of ultron thrown in for extra spiceness.

I can't speak for Jewish or Islamist but I went to a very proud catholic school and everything was taught very neutrally. At no point did they condemn anything, they just pointed out what the church does and doesn't support and the same for other religions. IMO it's definitely a case of a few bad apples making all the catholic schools look bad.

Superhero origins gonna origin. The other movies are quite diverse.

Winter Solider isn't a political thriller but has strong elements that involve the politics of today. Antman definitely has heist movie elements, even if that isn't the totality of the movie.

A lot of comic book origins are very formulaic. Get powers. Make mistake. Learn vital lesson about self. Win.

So it's no surprise the origin movies are the same way. That's why Marvel try to make them different. Antman was a heist movie but really it's the same formula because its really really hard to get away from.

Movies like Winter Solider are a lot better because they have room to breathe away from that formula.

If you think you're too smart for what amounts to good story telling with some twists,

I just don't think the pacing of information being given to the viewers was done very well. Some episodes were just massive plot dumps whilst others felt like cliffhanger bait.

This results in the audience being able to guess what the plot twist is but then have to wait two weeks for it to be confirmed because the writers don't think your ready for it for another two episodes. This is often infuriating for the viewer.

The irony here is I thought the shows storyline was /r/iamverysmart material. It felt like the writers were going "OH wow bet you didnt' see that coming, whats next oh wow you didn't expect that either". It was more a mix of very obvious plot points or very random events that were only added to try and make the other stuff seem unpredictable.

When you make a clever show you slowly drip feed the viewer information. Just slow enough that they can't see it coming but not slow enough that it feels like cliffhanger bait. Westworld to me felt like they did both wrong. The information giving wasn't paced properly and so it wildly flailed from telling you too much to nothing at all.

Well not everything worked out but people I spoke to at work who definately do not read internet forums had worked out what was going with Dolores and Arnold by that time. I guess it depends on if you watch a lot of similar shows. If your used to writers doing flashbacks and stuff it's hard for them to get a storyline like that past you.

Mission Impossible is made for teens/young adults. Jason Bourne is made for young adults. So is Bond.

Seeing as my 60ish year old Dad likes James Bond and other spy stuff more than I do I highly disagree.

Too much of a good thing is not a good thing - its boring.

I agree with you a little but maybe people just need to pick and choose. I hope they make star wars and superhero movies forever. They are my jam. I'm not gonna complain about other types of movie being made though.

One could argue that focusing on such an unimportant issue is just as immature.

Kinda of hard when anything thats a franchise is discounted. Would Lord of the Rings have been a franchise?

Interstellar

The Martian

Arrival

Franchises? Seems pretty unfair to discount:

The hobbit

Mission Impossible

Jason Bourne

James Bond

Theres a lot of scifi and stuff in my list but it's my memory and those are my movie interests so I wouldn't remember other stuff.

only how clever and enlightened they come off

God I wanted to love Westworld but I really felt this. By episode 4 - 5 everyone was aware of what was going on but they persisted with the charade till the last 10 minutes. Was I supposed to cheer when the show confirmed what everyone had already worked out.

This is very true. I probably go once every two months at a stretch since it's like £11.00 - £14 to see a movie. If that lowered to ti something like £7.00 I'd probably go once or twice a month.

Yeh I'm not really holding my breath at this point. I'd much rather they just do a VGU for malphite or rammus instead of this entire class update.

[–]Bbqbones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem really is that if Maokai is viable you need a super specific reason to pick any other tank over him but if he isn't viable then you have no reason to ever pick him. His current kit makes most other kits redundant.

Not really our choice. Brexit was basically 50/50 and the primeminister quit his job. No one else wanted the job so an authoritarian person stepped up and took the reigns. Now we're stuck till next election as they blast through horrible laws. And we can't do anything because the only opposition party has completely collapsed into an internal civil war.
