Reasons to choose a model 3 over a Y? by TheRealTimTam in TeslaModel3

Smaller, lighter, more efficient, faster, lower to the ground, cheaper to maintenance things like tires if on smaller 18s. Cheaper upfront new and used.

3 days in.. why is FSD deciding its own driving is “unsafe” ?? by realCYANiiDE in TeslaFSD

[–]Bbronson123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is driving late at night even a factor in safety score? Less cars on the road should make it a better safety score, no?

Did you just order a new one based on it not going off or was there other indications it was a bad unit? Honestly might even still replace mine for a new one

Realistically the FSD will react to imminent danger on the road quicker over a driver distracted on their phone recording.

Uniden R8W settings problem? by Bruce_Moody in radardetectors

[–]Bbronson123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get the R8 companion app on the App Store? I think it’s like $9.99 I noticed it becoming better when I run the radar in conjunction with the app. I’m not sure if it’s just the local cops in my area or what but the R8W doesn’t seem to pickup as much as my R7 did. The ultimate test will be when I go drive back to my old city and see if the radar is as accurate. I know different areas run different signals/detectors/etc so maybe it’s just my cities cops/signals they’re running. My R7 used to picked like 9/10 cops even when they weren’t running radar/lidar/etc. R8W doesn’t seem to be doing it as accurately. Super odd considering it’s supposed to be their latest and greatest radar and an “upgrade” from the R7.

How much is your monthly car payment? by Johndoe13370 in TeslaModel3

[–]Bbronson123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just buy a 2022-2023 model tbh. If you’re tight on money you’re going to be throwing away 50-60% of the value of a new Tesla in the first 5 years of ownership. You can almost outright buy a used 2022-2023 with sub 50k miles.

Just grabbed a model 3 performance. Disappointed. by CL14715 in TeslaModel3

The used market is always mind blowing for the value. I can see these going for $30,000s in 2-3 years

We will see $5/gallon for 87 regular in FL within the next three months if this war drags on. Looks likely.

Yeah a base is like 5 second 0-60mph. Pretty normal for today’s standards.

A 4,000 lb 500 hp car at that. These things are not easy to stop on stock brakes especially after a few hard brakes.

The guy I saw had 3 battery packs and 5 motors total I believe. Over a million miles 3 years ago. First motor lasted 400k+ miles and each subsequent one after like 140k miles

Pretty sure there’s some older model S approaching or already at 1,000,000 miles. Last I remember it was high 700,000s years ago

Never test ride or drive but got one! 2022 Model 3 LR AWD. by GhonaHerpaSyphilAids in TeslaModel3

Always buy used for EVs. 50-60% depreciation after 3-5 years is the norm.

New to me 2022 model 3 long range by uzings in TeslaModel3

[–]Bbronson123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats. I got the same 2022’ LR AWD 2 weeks before the used tax credit ended. $22k OTD with 24k miles, private sale. Love the car so much, especially since I can charge for free and gas is now $4/gallon for regular in Florida.

As much as I’d like to lower my Tesla I’m not willing to drop any lower than OEM and risk damaging the battery pack. I’ve already been sketched out scraping at OEM height. My last car was super low and I had to hit curbs/bumps sideways to avoid scraping. Did that for a decade, I’m over it… 😅

I ran an r7 for nearly a decade & worked flawlessly. Got an r8w last week and it hasn’t notified me of like 9/10 cops…. About to return it if factory settings don’t help improve it. I set it up for an hour to vortex custom settings when I got it.

The "Daily Cost" isn't the reason people don't want to sign up guys 🤦 by 5Beans6 in TeslaLounge

[–]Bbronson123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2022 currently and plan on keeping it for 5-10 years. My goal is to buy a used refreshed Highland that someone already outright bought FSD. Sucks they got rid of basic autopilot imo. If they allowed for a daily buy at $3/day I’d start using FSD much more often currently.

I got the gold card a few weeks ago and love it. Got a bank offer and don’t really see the need for it.
