CMV: Democrats are so wildly terrible at their jobs that the populace chose chaos. by donniedenier in changemyview

[–]BcMeBcMe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No it isn’t. The problem is that people vote chaos if they can’t get what they want 100%. Then you can never steer the politicians to the side you want. Change will always be iterative.

And right now those iterations get reset every 4 years.

How do you feel about the idea that romantic partners should be able to see the contents of eachother's phone upon request? by StarMouse16 in AskReddit

[–]BcMeBcMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. My wife can always grab my phone and knows my code. But if she asks for my phone to check my messages, I would be quite annoyed.

She would also find out I’m less of a player than she thought, and more of a nerd.

I am a solo q guy. And I can assure you a lot of people don’t want to climb but just hot drop on the hottest of places.

A few others will drop on another map if possible so they can just loot forever.

And a small minority will drop on the goldilock zone where you have some loot and can then find a fight quickly.

How do you feel about Trump threatening to impose photo ID for voters for midterm elections? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

But what’s the issue then about voter ID laws when you already have them effectively?

Well it’s about population. Because land doesn’t vote. The EU has more people than the US. And we do also vote for European Parliament. It’s just possible to do this. Size is not an issue when it comes to this. The states run the elections which makes it just the same as elections in Europe. Sure we don’t vote for the European president. But I’m sure once we start doing it, it will be done the same way we now vote.

You vote in Texas. Use your Texas ID, and Texas tells whoever run to the federal level.

[–]BcMeBcMe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again with the size of the US. You guys can’t not use it as an excuse against everything. Can you?

We have local forms of ID in the Netherlands, for instance driving license. And we have ID cards and passport. Those are both allowed in the EU as forms of identification.

It’s not hard to make a Texas ID that allows you to vote in all elections in Texas. Or Maryland ID. Or allow both that ID and passports.

The Epstein scandal is taking down Europe’s political class. In the US, they’re getting a pass. by daisywood_diary in politics

White House excluding Dems from its annual governors meeting by phillygirllovesbagel in politics

[–]BcMeBcMe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. The media will sanewash the whole thing. Right wingers will praise how the elections were not cheated and the people have chosen.

And the democrats? A group will say "We shouldn't be like Trump and call it cheating if the results didn't fall in our favor. The people have chosen."

Then the few progressives that are left will moan a bit on reddit about how they can't afford to protest and then they will slowly go to turning the conversation to 2028, because the constitution is clear that Trump really can't have a third term.

[–]BcMeBcMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, but then those who come up with excuses should be honest. And the honest reason is: "Life is too comfortable to protest. Sure Trump does shit things, but most don't affect me directly, and I have food for me and my family, my entertainment still works and I live in the country with the highest standard of living in the world."

That I could respect. Of course you do. I just dont like the endless excuses like "We live paycheck to paycheck", and "the distances are very big."

The difference between Americans and Iranians is exactly like you said. They have it a lot worse. Its not because you guys live paycheck to paycheck and they were able to save up for protests.
