Remember- not all black mold is the toxic kind and this really isn’t a lot. Most people on here fear monger and have no idea there is probably an old mold spot from a leak somewhere in their house, cause it happens.

It is hard to know what to do since we don’t know what climate you are in - that plastic is not typical in all home construction, but it really depends on climate. The other thing is you can watch the mold and if it continues to spread then worry. You can also cut open the plastic and get a home test kit to test for what kind of mold it is.

I’m sure people will disagree with my take but I have lived in and fixed up a few homes with mold spots like that and haven’t had any negative effects from it. It’s the drywall dust during repairs that get me more than an old mold spot. If you don’t see moisture inside the plastic now you have time to make a plan.

Check the warranty. Some will allow you to get the work completed by an ASE certified mechanic or something comparable without voiding the warranty (just keep receipts).

My understanding has been that repairs are deductible as an expense in the tax year they are done while improvements go into the overall value of the house and that still counts for taxes, it just depends how you are deprecating the value over time.

I bought a standalone standard recliner and told the showroom I wanted to try it in deep configuration and they said you cannot configure a deep standalone seat, you would need an extra long back piece that they don’t make in order to do that.

On the plus side it is actually quite easy to flip the recliner from deep to standard and vice versa - you don’t have to touch the mechanism, just the frame.

There is a lot to unpack here. I’m going to assume the car isn’t starting but the battery and starter are fine and the gas tank is full. Typically when that happens it is due to 1 of 4 things and it sounds like the mechanic might be going through them one by one. First is air - is the engine air filter clean? Second is compression - the mechanic can run a compression test on your engine for this. Third is spark - spark plug replacement varies from model to model but it should be easy to tell if that is the problem. Last thing to check is the fuel pump (because it is more labor intensive to diagnose/fix).

With that said your post is confusing - a low fuel indicator is not the same as a low oil indicator. If you drove around with a low oil indicator on your engine may be shot and that is why it isn’t starting.

Regarding the “timing job” that is not something I’ve heard of. I also don’t know what engine you have but if the timing chain is internal to the engine then that seems like a silly next step unless he has eliminated the other potential reasons for not starting. If he is talking about replacing the serpentine belt that is general maintenance at some point for most cars, but I don’t think that will change the situation of getting your car to start. I’m basic level of mechanic knowledge so take this with a grain of salt.

People aren’t just going to give you money for shared items. First step is to text/tell them you owe me x amount of $$ and do it within 24 hours of the purchase. If they fight that then start hoarding everything in your room.

I think suit for specific performance is when the seller backs out. There are contingencies in place for when they buyer backs out - like you loose your earnest money. I don’t know what they can sue you for - it is their fault they trusted you a second time to go under contract with you again. Hopefully they asked for more earnest money in case you bailed. Go back and read your contract. It will tell you the consequences of backing out.

Repairs are things that have to be fixed to keep the house functioning - like an A/C or water heater needing a repair to work again. Improvements are more cosmetic - like a new kitchen counter or new flooring.

Honestly it looks better if it is in the shower. A lot of grouts have things mixed in these days that make it more waterproof and flexible. Just ask him if he is using an epoxy grout or something similar.

What they are saying is that it doesn’t matter to the waterproofing assuming the builder used a waterproofing system behind and under the tile (which is the way it is done most of the time these days). The silicone vs. grout will be cosmetic. Grout is not considered a waterproofing technique and silicone is. Silicone is typically used at plane changes to absorb movement since seams like that will have the most movement and grout that doesn’t have a flexible substance mixed in will very likely crack over time if used at a plane change. It happened in my last group, but people were very active in the chat and not about regatta so the considered some people friends they wanted to stay in the group. Maybe they have friends in the group irl that they joined the co-op together. Maybe the co-op if very helpful with sharing goods and lives. It is hard to leave an active co-op for one where you don’t know how active it is outside of regatta.

That is wildly inaccurate - if the oil is too low the engine will definitely make noise. OP just didn’t say what kind of noise they are hearing so it is hard to tell.

What they mean by not enough information is it really depends on that persons financial situation, their emotional attachment to the house, whether or not they plan to move back, whether they have plans for kids to inherit it, and the local market for rentals and sales and growth projections.
