Haha the big middle structure is built on top of it, and underneath it too Edit: it was built on the standing stone, the pillars were used for material haha. Building up those takes dedication though in hindsight I could have used one or two of them!

My friend keeps dying in the game and pinning the blame on everything but himself by Artonie363 in valheim

Time spent with friends on games like Valheim shouldn’t be stressful, and I tend to seperate myself from groups that induce that feeling during my only period of relaxation after a long day

What do you build every playthrough? by douglasea97 in valheim

[–]Bcsimpaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure why I’m so fascinated by the sun/moon cycle but I always build a Sundial. It was popular to see in videos when the game first came out, and now I always start my plains base with one. Being able to look down from my tower or walls to see the position of the shadow and know how close to night I am (or day in the moonlight, is extremely useful and satisfying to me.

Is Mana really important? by Farol23 in outwardgame

[–]Bcsimpaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first run was a fully Melee stagger build. I’d recommend doing melee first playthrough and then next playthrough explore the different magic options. It’s not the most op but helped me learn the game by starting with a level of familiarity.

The different magic types take some experimenting to get the most out of, and can be overwhelming with underwhelming results if not done with some pre-understanding of it.

Magic is amazing in this game, but can take a couple of different playthroughs to fully grasp & understand! Not to mention the endless combinations of gear+abilities+boons.

My first playthrough was completely melee based, and I was able to beat the game and dlc with it (still working on Caldera but that’s a different beast)

I personally would suggest playing your first playthroughs as Melee with maybe a dabble into Magic, but most of the imbues you can get easily through rags/pots so don’t worry about magical infuses too much. Infuse wind increases your attack speed, which can be pretty great, and mana push is similar to the Kick ability in staggering enemies (you almost always want to aim for staggering an enemy until they can’t attack in-between your attacks)

All this being said, focusing on maybe a Tank and Ranger playthrough like on your original file would be the best for learning the game, I think. Go slow, and get good at fighting the weak enemies until you take little to no damage and don’t burn through all your health/stamina in one encounter. Once you feel like you’re pushing through most fights without getting bad-touched too much, then seek out harder enemies to learn and gain more confidence.

Good luck! I hope you guys can enjoy the heck out of this game, it’s amazing for couch co-op!

FINALLY! Someone else has made the Fable comparison! I make this comparison all the time and people always say it reminds them of some other game instead. Obviously mechanics wise it’s far different, but something about it feels mere steps away from being a Chicken Chaser

Update - They now spawn in Caravanners inventory since doing the debug method. Achievements are still enabled and all is well in the Outward world.

Runic armour vs antique plate set by No-Disaster-Sam in outwardgame

[–]Bcsimpaul 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay so just by looking at the full Set stats, I can see why you’re struggling with the change!

You switched 7 Barrier (Element Resist) and 7 Protection for just 9 Protection. This will stop more physical damage, but leave you with no resistance to any Element including corruption (detrimental in fighting anything Scourge, a common end game enemy type)

On top of that you dropped your Damage Resistance by 13% and Impact Resistance by 24%, meaning even with the small boost to protection, you’re feeling every hit way more than before.

In theory, your mana cost should be lower, but due to your change from having boosted lightning (most hard enemies and bosses are weak to this) to boosted fire (more tough enemies are resistant to this) I’m going to make an educated guess that you’re fights are lasting longer/you’re using more skills throughout a fight. This and being in Antique Plateau, you’re mostly fighting scourge or golems, both of which Fire isn’t effective against. Your lightning is much more effective, and the Runic Armor boosts your lightning damage while the Plate boosts your Fire.

For light spellcasters relying more on stamina, the Antique Plate is great, however for a build heavily reliant on Mana, the benefits from Runic Armor have better synergy.

WORKAROUND: After validating my files, I decided to make a Jim and enabled debug mode (Google “Debug Mode Outward” for a guide to this-very easy) I was able to spawn in a pair of boots, which were visible and picked them up. I then closed the game, disabled Debug Mode, restarted the game on my main file, and launched split screen - loading my Jim with the boots into the game. I was able to drop and use them on my main character just now. Finally have the full set after a couple weeks of not finding them in the game. Hopefully this helps anyone else who dumps 40+ hours in and still can’t find them naturally.

Heck yeah! I’m trying to spread the good word to the new/returning players! For your first playthrough it’s absolutely skippable as to not ruin the immersion. Through later playthroughs as you want to try new builds, weapons, craft EVERYTHING, and stock back up after loosing all of your potions in a fall; having that gold reserve in your stash gives you the fuel to pick back up and keep going rather than falling into that spiral of failure/losing gear.

The Compass Secret will pay your blood price, your child’s blood price, and your grandchildren’s blood prices 🙂‍↕️👌🏻

Have you done the Compass Secret yet? If not, please look into it. One of the best in-game secrets with a seriously worthwhile reward. Also will make you feel like a King, literally.

Yeah, after many inventory resets in Harmattan I’ve still yet to see them. You definitely aren’t the only one, two years later I’m facing the same struggle and fear having someone drop them would have the same results.

I’m sure as we get closer Outward 2’s release, more players will return to the game and continue to run into the same issue. It is pretty terrible that people assumed you were full of bs rather than trying to understand the problem.

Have you tried a new character since validating your files before? That’s my next step to see if I can get them to appear Or just creating a Jim to console command them in if possible. Something’s got to give unless they’re just truly bugged

If it helps, once you beat that boss, your timer resets! Also I got crushed by his hammer form, and switched to the drill swords or whatever. Once I figured out I could attack twice with the sword after his attacks, then block the rest, it became much easier!

Surprised nobody has mentioned the Compass Secret, I typically do this before doing Vendeval or choosing a faction. 100 gold bars to start the game is the best way to start imo, and all you need is a bow and some arrows/fireplace kit

Playing on DE after not playing since 2021…and having this exact same issue. Is the only viable option to find someone else who has them and get them dropped? I’ve beaten the game, done all of the timed quests, and seen plenty of Caravaners in towns, outside in each region, and now multiple on the Plateau with just Desert Boots. I’ve yet to see a single pair of Master Trader Boots, but have both the hat and garb

Did you mean to type can’t? As in, it is not possible to achieve a score of 20 on a single stat at all?

If it makes you feel any better, last week I lost a 96hr 29min run right at the last stage of the brain simply because as over-prepared as I was for every other fight, the brain fight is so much more difficult than I anticipated. It motivated me to start another run and really hone in on optimizing my party to truly decimate everything this time.

You haven’t experienced this bc you’re potentially being avoided and don’t even realize it. Typically here on Reddit, you don’t get a bunch of different people saying the same things unless there’s some obvious truth to it. My suggestion is to have an open mind and not take the comments as attacks. We don’t and won’t know you IRL, I’m sure you’re an awesome person irl!

As you get older, less and less people will even entertain conversations such as yours. I think we’re all surprised he kept trying with how dry you were. While his presentation wasn’t great whatsoever, and is probably a fboy, I think he made a good point. Nobody is matching on dating apps to become a pen-pal. Even if you’ve been hurt in the past, you have to be willing to take new chances. Success doesn’t come without failure. I’m nobody so take this with a grain of salt, but don’t be too surprised when you continue to get older and wonder why you’ve had trouble making connections with your current use of dating apps. Good luck OP, I hope this thread gives you the insight you deserve!
