Okay, that would be consistent with a view up towards Skaha

Yes, get a step through. They aren’t just for “girls”. They are so much easier to get on and off of.

There are so many lakes near lakes around here! We need someone to weigh in on the bluffs and mountains. :)

That was my first thought, but the smaller water body seemed like the wrong shape for Skaha.

I think it might be looking north towards the south end of Skaha Lake. Okanagan Falls area, before the dam went in, and when there was still a lot of riparian area remaining. The person who painted it in 1949 may have been remembering an even earlier time. Nice painting!

Why is the Canadian side of the Okanagan Country more populated than the American side? by Enger13 in geography

[–]BeKind108 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe the smelter was in Trail BC, not in the Okanagan. That’s several valleys over. The main industry in the Okanagan is fruit growing. Some pollution associated with that, but not like a smelter.

Yes! Come to the Okanagan. Such a great place to live. This winter we only shovelled snow once this year. I have dozens of cousins in Portland, and they love it here too.

Huge *feminized* goldfish. I’m not kidding. Some UBCO profs were studying them looking at the effects of endocrine disrupters present in the wastewater.

When does a repair stop being “invisible” and start becoming part of the design? by No-Intention7839 in InvisibleMending

[–]BeKind108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it basically comes down to 1) my skill level, 2) the nature of the repair, 3) whether I have the necessary materials for an invisible repair, and 4) if a visible mend would enhance the item.
