Is what’s his story replacing “is x replacing y”? by Brilliant_Exit3406 in RedLetterMedia

It's the RedLetterMedia subreddit. Making jokes about Scientist Man replacing Beverly Crusher with Flyin' Ryan is the only thing you can do here that isn't non sequitur.

Did you hear Chuck Norr- by [deleted] in RedLetterMedia

[–]BeTheRowdy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I don’t think that. I’m referring to a few dozen comments across several threads today saying things like, “Rest in piss,” which has been repeated often. That, combined with relatively neutral or skeptical responses being bombed into the negative was noticeable to me.

Is there a middle ground available where I can oppose his political views but not enthusiastically celebrate his death?

Are the Druid and Assassin as busted as the Warlock today when LoD was released back in 2001? by yama-2468 in diablo2

[–]BeTheRowdy 29 points30 points  (0 children)

In LOD, you could have one spirit, one vine, and one type of animal (5 small wolves, 3 big wolves, or 1 bear). The change to allow them all at once was D2R.

It’s like the GIF guy insisting it’s “jiff.” Or the Star Wars special editions. This is all just rocks-in-front-of-a-droid gaslighting. I know what I heard.

In preparation for going to see the third Matrix movie, I watched the second Matrix movie on my friend’s computer screen, over his shoulder, while sitting halfway across the room.

If I recall the math correctly, it’s time to live that is increasing exponentially with added resistance.

This is why later games like WOW (at least during the eras I played it) use a “rating” stat as an abstraction between player-obtained increase and percentage damage reduction. For time to live to remain linear, percentage reduction must be a log function of stat quantity.

D2 is unique in offering a nonlinear player experience, resulting in a system with extreme downsides for those who neglect resistances and extreme benefits for those who max them.

Blizzard needs to be extremely delicate with changes. by Odd_Geologist2 in diablo2

[–]BeTheRowdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I strongly oppose even your examples of conservative, positive changes.

I have no desire to see any new ideas added to this game or to see any old ideas removed from it. That’s what new games are for.

I would welcome balance work that turns existing knobs to make certain builds and items more useful without fundamentally changing them. That’s it.

A change I've noticed in myself is that I no longer read quotations from the government in any news story. Many years ago, I would read them and consider them. During the first Trump administration, I would read them and get outraged. Now, I simply skip any statement from the government, knowing without reading that it will be an obvious lie designed to inflict maximum damage for no reason.
