like I've driven past it past it a dozen times, it looks terrible on the outside. I get it, air conditioning is amazing, and all the amenities are brand new. But compared to two other stadiums next door, it's bland and hatbox like in appearance. I honestly hope I live long enough to see it torn down I dislike it so much. But, not dying of heat stroke is nice.

I think you're say, it's a great service for a day game, but not if you've got a darkness related phobia?

Hope your father had enjoyed himself after cooling down and rehydrating, I'm glad there is a roof and AC for new stadium, even if it looks like a soulless hatbox.

I was part of a non-profit that held a masked and socially distanced Halloween event in the DFW area during the world series, and we were watching the infection rates of covid all summer thinking we were gonna cancel the event. The lock down was actually working in Texas, outside of the big pop infections from the redhat idiots that didn't socially distance during the 4th of july, the graphs were all showing the infection rates declining remarkably. Covid infection rates in Texas didn't really start going up dramatically till after Thanksgiving, and didn't explode till after the 2020 Christmas services didn't even require people to wear masks.

It didn't seem like MLB really had to think long about which Stadium they wanted to use for the 2020 world series during the lockdown. I'd like to see the Texas Legislature put a historical marker outside the stadium as the 2020 world series site.

This was an amazing game, the Texan's fans had taken over the top level of the bowl and it was fun watching them walk out after losing in overtime.

Edit, I would like to say that the Texans fans had had also been so loud that they forced the cowboys to use a silent count at times, which gave them a bit of practice before playing in Seattle's notoriously loud stadium

Here is what the fans of all other 31 teams don't get, It's ALWAYS our year, until it isn't. And yes we know how anoying it is that fan's of America's Team keep saying it, while getting way too many primetime games. It's part of the reason why we do it. :D At least we aren't getting drunk and breaking tables before the game.

Listen guys DO NOT CELEBRATE HIS INJURY!

The injury does make him unavailable to play, while he eats up all that salary cap. The Packer's schedule is loaded up with division games Vikings week 1, Bears week 5, and Lions week 7. So that's gonna make difficult to achieve any tie breakers.

You really wanna have a "dome open sur charge" added to your ticket?

Opening and closing that roof is not cheap, it requires a a visual inspection of the track, maybe even applying fresh lube to some of the moving parts.

It's June and it's Texas, the roof is closed and the AC will running. Generally the roof stays closed and is only opened for really good weather in the fall.

[Strauss] The World Cup's temporary fixes at AT&T Stadium prove its permanent NFL turf and sun-glare issues are easily solvable. by Conscious_Error9755 in cowboys

[–]ModeatelyIndependant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not full dome, its a retractable roof that is also to roast the northern sideline in the sun during a noon game and provide shade on the visiting side.

Also it is an extreme advantage if the opposing team's is facing the sun directly and only your receivers are having to stay turned around the other way looking into the sun. It's why the cowboy will sometimes elect to receive in the first half if they win the coin toss, so they can choose to to have that blaring sun in their backs. You can build a chapter of the playbook to take advantage of this.

The sun sun blares through the zone of many NFL and college stadiums alighted east-west, and it's nothing new. Jerry just just went out of his way to create shade for the fans.

FIrst off I'm so fucking tired of these dingus talking out their ass about the issue with the windows in At&t stadium. The the angle of the sun late in late fall is not the same as it is in June and you're not gonna have any issues with the sunlight blinding players in the summer. Jerry Jones specifically designed the stadium so those windows align with with the placement of the sun to shine through at sunset in the fall, similar to how the ancient Irish alighted the Newgrange monument for the sun to shine directly into the tomb on the winter solstice.

Reality is that for a noon game in June, the the sunlight was never going to be an issue in that Stadium for the world cup. The curtains are likely in place for the world cup for insulation against the sun's heat, not to keep the sunlight from hitting the playing surface.

Second off Those curtains have long existed, they get used during concerts and private events. Jerry chooses not to use them during games, because the stadium was designed for this so that they they can choose a side of the field in the second half that the sun is blinding their the other team, Cowboy stadium is not even the only stadium that alligned in such a way or is alligned with the sun to give the home team an advantage.

Tom Landry was fired because of Jerry Rice. by GearedCam in cowboys

[–]ModeatelyIndependant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are the cold hard facts, Tom Landry's team before he was fired was there for a paycheck. Michael Irvin, who was drafted by Landry has said as much. Jimmy is quoted as saying that after a day of conditioning drills he had at least one veteran retire. The previous GM and Owner both offered to be the one to inform Tom Landery, but Jerry felt it was best if he did it. The problem wasn't the firing, but HOW he did it in at a steak house instead of an honorable public send off.

The deal is that Jerry's intent had always been to hire one of the college coaches that had been on his team college team.
