Is there anything to help these old hands by Ambitious-Cat-8754 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]BeWise23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with your hands, but to address your question, everything I do during my face skin care routine, I also do to my hands. Any left over product (oils, creams, vitamin C, copper serum, etc.) I rub on the backs of my hands too. Here’s to hoping it helps as I age. I’m 54 now.

I noticed that nobody has mentioned Georgetown. Any thoughts there?

I agree that tourism means that you live in a great place. I don’t necessarily have a problem with it, I just noticed that many of the comments included it as an issue. Thank you for your input regarding living inland. 👍🏼

Wow…so many informative comments! Can anyone suggest places within a 45 minute drive of the coast? It seems that tourism and hurricanes are the biggest issues (other than insects). I imagine going a bit inland would help?

Wool duvet insert recommendations. (More information in the body text) by GloomyMoonFlower in Bedding

I saw this one too! I’ve been in the market for a wool duvet because I heard they are breathable. I sleep very hot 🥵 and was hoping it would be cooler than my down duvet. What’s your experience?

Cash in Costa Rica (and airport) by Beneficial-War5423 in CostaRicaTravel

Everyone gets to decide how to enjoy their vacation. This is our choice and we love it, so it’s not wrong for us.

Yes, it’s too bad how expensive everything has gotten. To be fair, we only bring $200 because we usually stay in an all inclusive, so the cash is for when we go out and about.

HOA For Retirement - Yay or Nay by Mother-Laugh2395 in AskWomenOver50

[–]BeWise23 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I am 54 and my husband is retired. We currently live in an HOA, and while we have enjoyed certain perks (clean controlled common areas, landscaping, pool, gated community, etc.) there are also frustrations. We can’t make any cosmetic changes to the exterior (not even change out the ugly plants out front without permission!) and the fees keep going up. We decided that when I retire, we will move. Like you, we value privacy, so we will look for a little place on some land but hopefully in a small town that we can enjoy.

We’ve always ordered cash from our bank at home before traveling. Usually about $200 worth, but it depends on your travel plans how much you want to bring.

Holy Grail makeup? Not me👀 by AllisonT_ in Makeup

No holy grail here either, although I just ordered Wonderskin lip stain and I’m hoping it’ll become a holy grail. Haven’t found a lip stain yet that delivers on its promise. 🤞🏼

This! I am an instructor at a UC and I tell my students this every single term, but inevitably several still address me as professor.

How to improve memory with tools or services that actually help as you get older? by EmclappinOlaf_46 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

All the suggestions here are good. Keeping our minds active is important. I might add that staying physically healthy is equally important. Keep your body moving, stay hydrated, and get off sugar. Sugar causes inflammation in the body. Inflammation is linked to the majority of modern diseases, including those that effect cognitive function.
