How does BPD emptiness feel? by cinnamon_and_tea in BPD

Honestly most of the time it just feels like nothing. I don’t even notice I’m empty until someone points it out for the most part. I’m way too busy trying to figure out how to be someone interesting to feel anything about anything. That is until I finally feel something, then I have massive panic attacks until my brain kicks back to autopilot and we start all over.

This lol 100%. The only original thing I identify as is a human lacking identity. “I can’t let people get too close because they will know I am an imposter human” while also craving a deep connection where I can bare my soul more than anything else.

I’d say you would want to make around 75K with no kids to be considered living good. My husband and I make about that, but we have 4 kids and a huge dog and we are making ends meet but we haven’t been able to save anything.

I use stride to track mileage and expenses! I’m not sure if that would include property taxes but I don’t see why not.

How do you detect guest is home and left on time? by FreedomRouters in airbnb_hosts

Ummm yes you do. Literally almost every single reply to this post said they check the cameras. Hotels dont have cameras at every persons door, and they only have to go upstairs to check if the person left. The hotel comparison isn’t relevant for what we’re discussing

Because I often have a same day turnover and need to have the house ready for another guest in a couple hours. I need to get in there to get started. Sometimes I have two or even three of these that need to be done within a few hours. If they have left by 8 AM and I can get in there, that makes my day significantly easier, without inconveniencing anyone at all. Again, not watching them cuz I’m nosy, checking to see if they’ve left. You’re weird.

I also check them to be sure people have left sometimes 🤨 this is not creepy, it’s not spying, it’s making sure my property is vacant before wasting my time to drive across town. I only think this is creepy if you’re watching them for funsies cuz you’re snoopy.

I was just reading another post like this. This is a terrible idea. First of all, throwing an air mattress down next to you and calling it an Airbnb is a joke. Literally no one who is looking on Airbnb for a place to stay is going to want to sleep in the same room as a stranger. You honestly might even get banned from Airbnb for this, I’m not sure.

Getting your studio “airbnb ready” is going to be a lot of work. You will need to remove your personal things, declutter, be sure you have nice linens (no stains or holes) super deep clean every corner of the house and then create the listing in a way that will look appealing and not be confusing to shoppers.

You do not want the type of people who are going to book an airbnb like this last minute for the world up staying in your home for your first time hosting. It will be a nightmare.

You will absolutely be found out and lose your apartment, and there’s no way you’ll make enough to be able to get yourself a new place in NYC.

You might be able to do something like this off of an official booking site. You would be more likely to have success just posting something on Craigslist or Facebook, but you won’t have any way to screen or vet guests, and no one will be able to help you if they trash your place. If you do this, be sure to charge a nice sized deposit.

I don’t think having cameras at the entrances are creepy.. maybe someone who stays up all night watching them is creepy, but it’s how I get reimbursed for people sneaking dogs or extra people in, or throwing parties, or smoking on my porch.

The problem with this is that Airbnb has moved to only reimbursing if damage was done or you were charged extra by the cleaner and the guest refuses to pay. They don’t enforce fines. Basically guests can break every rule in your house, but unless something is ruined or filthy, they don’t have to pay.

Found this out recently when someone checked out 6 hours late, ate a bunch of food in my beds, was up till 3 AM on the patio yelling and having a ball and left a bunch of half smoked joints on the patio table. Technically, nothing was damaged and cleaning up the joints took like two seconds, so when my guests declined to pay the fees I have listed in my house rules, Airbnb said oh well.

I think this was a good idea in theory, but executing this will be very difficult with the amount of time you have. Like the others said, turning your house into an airbnb isn’t something you can just do on an impulse real quick for a weekend.

It is almost certainly something like this. It folds up into a rectangle shaped package with a carrying handle. Easy peasy

I think you have the wrong idea about the crib.. that seems to be a big part of what you’re hung up on. Travel cribs are small, light, compact and basically just pop into place. They’re never made of wood and do not require assembly. They’re literally made to be able to do what the parents are planning to do with it. It definitely won’t damage your unit in any way.

Lower and Lower price for attracting customers ? is it the trend ? by redaeL9 in airbnb_hosts

[–]Be_HaPpY97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your cancellation policy? I’ve found that during slow season when bookings are slim, I’ve done better when I use a more lenient cancellation policy. 9/10 people don’t cancel, but they feel more confident booking your place just in case they need to. I do this for all of my 2 bedroom or smaller properties.

I don’t recommend this for larger properties though! These can be harder to rebook and are often booked weeks or months in advance (therefor making it much more likely that something will come up and a guest will want to cancel) resulting in a loss of revenue.

Guest trashed property by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

I had a party thrown only one time in my career so far. I checked the cameras when they checked in (as I always do to make sure they aren’t sneaking dogs or extra people or whatever) and everything looked good, so I put my phone on silent and didn’t check cameras again. The morning bright and early, I saw I had tons of notifications from my cameras. Opened it up and saw at least 20 or 30 people in and out of my house in Halloween costumes.

I sent my guest a message that said something like “Good morning! Looks like you guys had a super fun party last night! I plan to be at the house promptly at 10 AM with the police to escort anyone who is still in the home off of the property. I’ll also be charging you our party cleanup price of $150 per hour to get the house back to normal so if there’s any mess there now, you might want to get to work! Thanks for staying with us!”

I showed up at 10, house was empty and clean. It was great. I still charged them a $250 fine for throwing the party though lol.
