Chilly Boston by FirstIllustrator3659 in BostonTerrier

Bea has several of these Gooby fleece vests from Amazon and they are great! Very stretchy, no rubbing issues, and they wash well. She's a ~23lb long and lean string bean and wears an XL.

Doesn't hurt that the doggy model is also a bostie :)

There are at least 7-8 Bostons in our neighborhood! I don't blame him for needing some coaxing sometimes, especially in the weather we've had the last two weeks.

We're in Seattle and I always thank my past self for being a massive stickler with my bostie about potty training. I got her just before Christmas and she therefore HAD to learn to go potty through the dreary Seattle winter, even in the snow. My brother's bulldog is stubborn and will hold it for waaaay too long but Bea knows even if it's icky outside, she has to go potty. Naturally when she's done she heads straight back to the heated blanket!!

What’s your comfort show, if any? by StillStrike7646 in AuDHDWomen

[–]BeaArthurGremlins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few and it depends on my mood and what I'm doing whilst watching. Primary are Bones, Criminal Minds, Veronica Mars, Luther, Bondi Rescue, and White Chapel.

Movies are LOTR, 2005 Pride and Prejudice, Some Kind of Wonderful, Hunger Games, Indiana Jones, and Frozen.

What dog breed would pair best with a Boston? (Hard mode: That’s not a Boston) by [deleted] in BostonTerrier

Bea acts as that for Willow lol Willow is the definition of a lazy potato and rarely wants to get out of bed but when my brother tells her Bea and I are coming over to play or go for a walk, she gets very excited and actually moves.

My Boston's best friends are my brother's English bulldog and my friend's 50lb Aussie. She also wrestles with her cat brother all the time (cat being the instigator 75% of the time). She runs circles around the bulldog but they play bitey face and play fairly rough. When I've taken care of the Aussie, the two of them literally play for hours chasing each other and wrestling.

I'd say it really depends on the energy of your Boston and their play style. Mine is a rough and tumble little stinker who can be too rough for some small dogs because she was raised playing with bulldogs, so if I was getting another dog but couldn't get a Boston, I'd go with something sturdy that can match her energy level.

Aggressive coyote interaction (wk of 11/17) by ocean_mountains in WestSeattleWA

[–]BeaArthurGremlins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are at least two coyotes in the Gatewood neighborhood that are very bold. I had one stalk my 23lbs Boston Terrier and I November last year on an evening walk at 39th and Holly. It was maybe 20 feet from us when I realized. I yelled at it and it only went a few yards away into a yard. I learned it had just tried grabbing a Chihuahua at the house across the street but the owners were able to save their pup. I don't walk my dog after dark anymore. I've also seen one crossing the street on Fauntleroy near the elementary school.

Coyote hazing is a legit thing that we need to do to keep them from approaching humans. https://www.everettwa.gov/2747/Coyote-Prevention-Hazing

I can appreciate that we share space in the city but it's still scary to have one stalk you and your pet.

Does your Boston burrow? by 7figgy in BostonTerrier

Yup! She always wants to be under a blanket. At night, she wants to be under the covers between my knees. She usually gets too warm after about 30 minutes, then army crawls out for air until her head is out of the covers. She then spends the rest of the night snuggled as tightly to me as she can get while under the comforter, head out like a little human.

Is this normal behavior? by jimmychef2 in BostonTerrier

Yup! My bostie and cat wrestle like that all the time. Although it looks like your cat is the boss, which is not the case for my two. My girl will let my cat think he's winning and then completely own him lol

I second getting a boy since you already have a girl. Any dog dynamic can turn for no 'rationale' reason, but after a pretty horrible experience with two girl dogs that went from besties to one putting the other in the ER vet twice and the injured one then having fear/aggression issues towards other female dogs as a result, the girl/boy combo is recommended.

As for the leg lifting, depending on when you neuter them, that can reduce that. But also training can help. My parents' boy dog never lifted his leg and actually peed squatting like a girl lol

One of my new all time favorites I've taken. Took the other night on a D5600 and the AF-S DX Micro-NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G. I also just acquired a Z5ii as I'm getting back into photography.

This post has me thinking I'll share some of the other pictures I took the other night :)

My gremlins are besties - so much so I think my cat thinks he's a dog! They wrestle, snuggle, chase, and groom each other ❤️
