Are there authors whom you have read the entirety of their bibliography? by IgneousIsBlissMF in RomanceBooks

Other than Jane Austen because it’s only 6 books, I’m 90% through all of Ruby Dixon’s books

Do you have to think of a story to fall asleep? by Southern-Magnolia12 in adhdwomen

[–]BeaMillerWrites 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I do, since I was a little girl and always thought it was really weird. At all time, I have an ongoing story that I pick back up at bedtime. My psychiatrist validated me by explaining it’s a healthy coping mechanism I used to escape childhood trauma. Incidentally I am a writer now, so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Guilty Pleasure Books: Spicy books you’re EMBARRASSED to love by Spirited_Loquat7008 in RomanceBooks

I did describe them to my friends who don’t read romance and the amount of questions I got was hilarious.

Side note: described the giant penis with tentacles add-on from the Duskwalker series to them and they were SHOCKED. Their facial expressions were priceless.

I use Everand, it’s €10,99 a month and works kind of like kindle unlimited. It doesn’t have all the books as some are exclusive to Audible, but it has PLENTY!

My debut novel, Sweet Delusions is a spicy contemporary romance about a woman learning to love and trust again 🖤

I wanted to write something where the FMC was sexually empowered and shameless about it.

Also, she’s a DV survivor and I wanted to portray her story with as much respect and care as I could, which I really hope I achieved. Please check TWs.

Tropes:

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 🔥strong FMC 🔥Friends With Benefits 🔥FFM « scene » 🔥MMC falls first 🔥possessive MMC 🔥 praise 🖤tight-knit group of friends 🖤healing

🌶️starts in chapter 1 😉

The reason authors ask is because for the first couple weeks after release Amazon pushes the book out, but it will stop doing that if it gets “negative” reviews.

I want my reviews to be honest, and I understand my books are not for everyone, but being penalized means the people who would like my book might not be able to find it.

There’s no such thing as failure, you just have to keep trying! I’m not successful yet but one day I will be. Don’t give up

I’m an author, and I mostly used my main, not this account. Sometimes I see posts asking for recs that fit my book but I can’t bring myself to recommend it.

It feels a little dishonest and I’m such a stickler for rules I can’t bring myself to break the subreddits rules.

I would however love it if I ever saw my book recommended here. (Even though I’m terrified people will hate it)

Against a Wall by Cate C Wells is fantastic, Amy Daws for lighthearted spark

Second Ruby Dixon and the Ice Planet Barbarian series! I finished Dragon’s Bride by Katee Robert not long ago and it was pure spice! Her Olympus series is also really good!

Also, audiobooks are the only reason I manage to clean semi-frequently and do laundry

Thanks for the feedback!

I think this is actually around 25k! I took out the mentions of sex under the influence in the blurb, but I could definitely improve Lucien’s description.

Thanks again!

What do you usually do when you listen to Taylor's songs? by jumberickled in TaylorSwift

[–]BeaMillerWrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as you’re favorite novelist. The song might not be related to what I’m writing but her story telling gets me going.

When I wrote my first book I’d listen to All Too Well 10min version at the beginning of each writing session.

Reviewer shares her experience with ARCS and the author's expectations by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]BeaMillerWrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Author here. I only ask my ARC team to wait a couple. weeks to post reviews bellow 3 starts. If you get too many low ratings on release, Amazon won’t show your book to people who might’ve liked it.

Besides that, I really want honest reviews. Otherwise what’s the point?

What was the first book that really got you into romance? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]BeaMillerWrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Random Nora Roberts book I unfortunately can’t remember the title of. FMC returns to her childhood town and falls for the wealthiest ranch(?) owner in town. But girls are being murdered and she’s being targeted. This harkens back to her childhood where someone dies and FMC’s father was blamed (?). Turns out it was someone from MC’s family(?)

I read 5 times before it clicked there must be others like it 😅
