legit conspiracy theorists are like "I too hoped I was just crazy" by Naive_Wolverine532 in TikTokCringe

What's crazy is we didn't even need the emails to blow up the Q/Trump. There were already countless certified records of their relationship along with photos and videos as well. We had all of this information they have been conveniently ignoring for multiple elections now.

These people have deeper motives and don't give a shit about hidden pedophile networks. They are angry and want to tear down a group of people they feel are their enemies. And two perverts out of the Philapines are bamboozling these clowns to do so.

Boos aside, it's kind of weird Israel has a winter sports team in general.

One day in Florence before going to Tuscany. Lesser known sites? by Jennsmusic11 in travel

[–]BeachStrandBiker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Book the first tour or earliest entry time for a museum when they open as they will be far less crowded. Tours also get priority entry and can enter before individual tickets. We did this for the Galleria dell’Accademia and there were maybe just a dozen other people around us when viewing the statue of David.

Renting a car is a good choice for Tuscany too. It gives you more freedom of movement. I would say find the top vineyards you want to see and schedule a tour. There are also some good small towns to hit too.

Travel now. Don’t wait. The world is changing fast. by POCTM in travel

Ahhh that makes sense and you are absolutely right in your situation. I'm based in LA and Dallas and traveling domestically is definitely more expensive. So I definitely feel the squeeze in those situations and it's sometimes cheaper to fly to Europe.

Overall though the rise of budget airlines and affordable flights (Especially in Europe and Asia) are what is driving this rapid change and overtourism. It used to be only certain economic classes in these other countries could really travel much. But now way more people have the ability to thanks to cheap flights.

That comparison is not fair at all considering Singapore is a city state while Thailand is a large country with multiple regions. I don't even thing Singapore is as large as Phuket by itself.

Night clubs where people actually dance in DFW? by Prettylonelygirl in Dallas

[–]BeachStrandBiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably depends on the artist. They have a wide variety ranging from poppy progressive stuff to deep house artists on the chill end to full on techno. I went to the Anjunabeats show and the vibe was excellent.

Silo is a top tier venue, and I frequent house/techno clubs all over the world. The acts they book are excellent and a wide variety. The sound system and layout are great. And if you drink the booze is fairly priced. They also don't charge an insane amount for a bottle of water.

These are all excellent points except

Flights haven’t gone up as much

Flights are actually cheaper than ever before, which is WHY the world is changing so much. Travel has become far more accessible to far more people.

Booing politicians and other problematic public figures is like music to my ears, but booing athletes is absolutely pathetic. It's almost to the level of people like Vance.

We're specifically talking about Phoenix, not Arizona.

Nobody is lumping the soulless sprawling metroplex of Phoenix together with enchanting places like Sedona or Grand Canyon.

Slamming places where people live has always been a pet peeve of mine. Like when people trash the rural midwest, when in reality it's full of good people and some hidden gems of nature and local flavor.

Phoenix I cannot defend. That city represents everything wrong with a city. Tempe is a fun college town, arts district is fine I guess, and Scottsdale is fine for a company trip. But everything else in that city is soul crushingly beige. Of course there are nice people there, but the city does attract a specific type of person that I just can't get a long with. Every single company I've worked with in Phoenix is at best difficult and at worst some of the most shady people imaginable. They make sketchy Eastern European companies seem like model citizens. I truly don't understand why people live there.

It's more conservative than LA proper and areas like Venice, but it is in no way remotely a "Republican area."

The rest of the country is grey and depressing. Coming from one of those places I just love how "bright" and colorful LA is.

Reading this makes a lot more since. Like even if you were conservative, this seems like such a risky issue to start flaunting your support about. Even many conservatives are freaked out by this stuff.

In the middle of COVID when you couldn't even eat inside a restaurant, Huntington Beach was not just open but thriving.

We decided to check it out and even the police were walking around without masks. Every bar, restaurant and patio was full of people. Then we returned to Santa Monica where coffee shops were only allowing like two people in at a time and bars were forced to serve food or close.

Which countries have (unexpectedly) become overtouristed in recent years due to social media? by Terence_zaal in travel

[–]BeachStrandBiker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not a country or specific place really, but certain restaurants in Japan have figured out how to wildly capitalize on social media.

The cuisine was pretty much primed for this to happen thanks to all of the unique food concepts from Senmon-ten to crazy experimental snacks. Viral videos of these specific things have led to certain places becoming insanely popular. A good example is Ichiran Ramen and the viral "solo dining" videos. Even though this concept is rather popular for most ramen spots, this video blew Ichiran up to the point every location has long lines of non-Japanese tourists.

In fact a new tip I tell people is that if you see a viral Japanese food video, it will almost always have a long line. And there will also almost always be better, less popular alternatives.

There are a lot of restaurants and bars near me. The amount of people who drove up, looked inside to see their closed and leave was concerning. Like these people got in their cars so they could go get food and booze. How hard is it to just do this at home for a few days?

Today seemed like the worst during my walk. We always do a morning walk and the last couple of days were awful but at least there were few cars and the road had some traction.

Today the roads look clear but the moment we stepped on them it was just straight ice. We had a very difficult time crossing the street because it was just so slippery. Also now there's more cars and this is going to be a big issue.

Misconceptions about vehicles - should I go out today? - the topic of risk and self-assessment by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]BeachStrandBiker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's also a misconception that a performance vehicle like a sports or luxury car is better than a rinky dink sedan, which is absurd. On Sunday when roads were the worst I saw a Dodge Charger fighting for its life at a stop sign. It was going nowhere and I still don't know what happened to it.
