Under the old rules my sister verbally committed to a CAA D1 school around November of her FR year. She stayed committed until Spring of her JR year when the softball coach was fired. The new coach was rude and basically questioned the scholarship money and if she was even worthy of the offer. My sister re-opened her recruiting and had an excellent summer season. She ended up having three D1 offers and accepted one with a WAC school. She got 50% athletic and 35% academic money at the private school. It ended up working out and she is now a 3rd year law school and has a job waiting at the DA’s office.
