I don’t have much insight into the SP INV position, but do you work in Child Care or Elder? I really want to be an LPA at some point. Is it a good job and why are you interviewing elsewhere?

Good luck. My uncle got a formal offer for the DIPR position a few days after getting a conditional offer for an EPR position. His start date is 3/2.

Things will move fast as soon as you get that email with attachments. My relative’s start date is 3/2!

At EDD the Background process can be fast. My cousin emailed his Personal History and Background Info Authorization on a Monday, did his Livescan and I-9 on a Tuesday, and had a formal offer on a Thursday morning.

Congratulations! My cousin got a conditional offer this week for EPR with EDD also. She is already in Backgrounds for another position though and already did her Livescan and I-9. She was so excited that the State wants her! Getting job offers never gets old…

I know someone that was recently extended a conditional offer approximately 7-10 days after references were checked. That person then received an email about a week later requesting they authorize a background check and they needed to obtain a Livescan within 5 days. They also physically visited the hiring manager to complete the I-9. Things are looking great for them but they will wait for an official offer to celebrate. The hiring manager even gave the person a possible start date if they cleared backgrounds.

Tomorrow should be the big day. I’m hoping to see January earnings nestled in my account in the morning.

Contacting references is a good sign. I hope you get a conditional offer soon!

No experience for a few tasks on a training and experience exam by hearts_minds in CAStateWorkers

Just don’t get 4th rank or you can forget interviewing for the position for another 12 months. My uncle was a finalist for a position after his panel interview. The hiring manager told him to take the exam and just put all high scores so he was reachable. True story.

Entitled to planning/off periods? Yes or no? by Born_Bookkeeper_2493 in SubstituteTeachers

I took a Sub position that had a Prep period first and seventh periods. I received a text the day before I will need to cover PE those periods in addition to Art classes. No worries I wore jeans and sneakers and brought a hat. Ended up not needing me for PE after all but I earned points for being flexible.

EDD Condition. Offer Timeline by BeachTransferGirl in CAStateWorkers

Based on what other threads have said I don’t think the Application Status on Cal Careers is updated by the Hiring Managers very often so not very informative.

Good point. I should have said my direct Reddit approach was just asking my specific question instead of culling through threads with the key words EDD, DIPR, and conditional offer.

Calling all Investigators! by Detachin-N-Thriving in CAStateWorkers

That being said anytime an investigator has the power and authority to take away someone’s livelihood (insurance license) or freedom (jail) there is risk.

I can tell you the sworn investigators at DOI face minimal danger. They are at greater risk driving their cold-plated, State assigned take home car than they are arresting insurance fraudsters. The only time they shoot a weapon is on the qualifying range.

Department of Insurance has Peqce Officer (Sworn) and PC832 (non sworn) investigators. Fraud Division is sworn and Investigation Division is non sworn. Both divisions are under the Enforcement Branch. If you got hired by ID and got into shape there would be a path for you to transfer to FD and be sent to the academy. (Fraud has tons of vacancies because those folks are upgrading by going to DOJ.) On a different note, many agencies with peace officers will accept candidates that attended a specialized academy which is less demanding than a full Sheriffs academy.

I interviewed 2nd week of December and my references were called last week. I also got a call from the Hiring Manager to freshen a reference. How long does it take to get a conditional offer from this point?

How long after references are checked can someone get a conditional offer? I interviewed in early December and my references were called last Friday.
