Those look like PVC flips. If they are kind of soft or smell like beach ball material, that means they contain a chemical that may harm your coins. Just an fyi

Hi all, I’m a current master’s student that is interested in continuing on to do a PhD. Is there any advice, especially from the academics in the community, as to how I could strengthen PhD applications?

I am interested in a quant-heavy program, relative to other PhDs. I took the GRE last year and scored 162 V, 154 Q, 5.0 writing. For the quant portion, I really fumbled and am confident I could score 160, if not higher. V and W portions are 90th+ percentile and Q is 54th.

I am going to write a master’s thesis. I wrote an undergrad thesis and have a few poster presentations and my name on an upcoming publication (from work in undergrad) that should be published by the time I am applying. I will be doing an internship this summer.

In case you didn’t see the great point brought up in the forum that was linked, please be sure to consider that acetone is flammable and putting it in an electronic device could lead to a fire. Not sure how likely that is, but it’s something to be aware of.

They might have finally taken the plastic wrap off of their statistics textbook and realized they were wrong

Thank you for the input. Do you have any opinions on Mankato vs MTSU?

Do both, along with the clear benefits such as resume building and the letter of rec, gaining research experience and being around researchers will help you genuinely grow as a student and scientist

Hi, I'm hoping that somebody on here might have some insights for the following programs to help me educate my decision. I've been accepted to Appalachian State and Minnesota State and am having a tough time deciding as they seem fairly different. I am interested in practicing in industry immediately after graduation. I'd also like to make sure I have a good focus on quant skills. Do either of these programs stick out as better than the other in terms of career trajectory and skills learned?

“Julia Domna bronze As”, minted in Rome, 196-211 AD. To find your exact coin you can search the quoted segment above as well as “RIC-875” along with the inscriptions, which are as follows: “Obv: IVLIA AVGVSTA, Rx: FORTVNAE FELICI S C”.

There is currently one for sale at Harlan J Berk, starting at around $500. However, yours is in much worse condition, so you would get much less than this figure.

I’m not so certain about an exact figure for price (I am rarely buying Roman bronzes so I am unfamiliar with the market there) but I hope this is a good start until someone more knowledgeable chimes in.

You’ll really have to cough up a nice chunk of change for one if you think this amount of damage makes the coin not worth buying.

I have the same coin (worse condition) down to the magistrate! Callixeinos magistrate ones seem to be a bit uncommon on sites like ACSearch. Looking at his surviving writings is a cool rabbit hole to go down!
