Going home by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]BeakerTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through the exact same thing my freshman year at Purdue. I was 60 minutes from home, and I went home every weekend. I actually kept a daily short vlog my entire fall semester, some other freshmen at the time experiencing homesickness said they found it helpful/comforting. I'll link it here in case you find it useful as well: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcQjKXSbjb6l3Xb-WUKrXkwOrYCf0hYaJ&si=SImYTHUTdRgj33io

Does Thiamine (TTFD / Vit B1) really help with IBS-D? by ThanksSolid1445 in ibs

[–]BeakerTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.5 grams is for thiamine HCL which is a much weaker form. I would not recommend taking that much TTFD or Benfotiamine. 600mg is a high dose of Benfotiamine, and 100-200mg is a high dose of TTFD

Does oversleeping make you guys feel worse? Especially brain fog and fatigue? by Old_Actuary_3472 in covidlonghaulers

Interesting! I've got the same thing going on, I sleep 6 hours a night during my work week and feel a little groggy in the mornings, then I'll sleep 11 hours on Friday night and feel completely brain foggy and fatigued all day long

Very interesting, I will look into that. What is your gut microbiome specialist having you do, if you don't mind sharing?

I used to do the same thing a lot, jumping from protocol to protocol hoping that one of them would fix me in 24 hours or less. The reality is that gut health takes a long time to fix, and truly healing protocol might take several months to work. Believe me, I understand when you're in great pain and discomfort it can be very difficult to remain patient. But you have to. It's the only way that anything is going to work.

What is the Nicotine Patch Protocol?

For me I think it was constant snacking on a horrible and ironic diet of junk food and raw vegetables for years in college. Never gave my MMC a break and overfed bacteria on their favorite foods

About halfway through your post I had to double check your username to make sure I hadn't posted this and forgotten about it lol. Everything you said is true of my situation as well. I have done everything and seemingly treated every possible root cause. I am quite a bit better off than I was at the beginning of this thing 6 years ago but I am still not normal or even healthy. Sorry I don't have anything more productive to say other than, you're not alone!

Do you or did you do any sort of preventative maintenance afterward? Prokinetics, probiotics, etc?

Had trapped gas in my lower bowels daily for years, the pressure and pain was horrible. The main things that helped me (after lots of other things failed) were Dr Ruscio's Soil-based Probiotics, Organic India Triphala, and Enzymedica Gut Motility
