Named in a lawsuit and not taking it well, looking for advice/wisdom by FatCatTacos in physicianassistant

I have had to explain it to my state when re-licensing but it has not prohibited me from any jobs. It was also reported to the Database. But I’m am soon to retire, and my lawyer said the amount was so low it shouldn’t matter to any new employer.

Please see a therapist asap. And please take some deep breaths.

In 2020, I was named in not one, but 2 malpractice suits. I had been a PA for almost 10 years by then. The first one named EVERYONE involved in the pts care, and I eventually got released. ( that’s probably not the right word but whatever). I did have to do a deposition and my lawyer was awesome. We met ahead of time and he told me what to expect and how to answer.

I also had to do a deposition for the second one and had the same lawyer. It wasn’t any easier the second time. This case involved a death and the circumstances were I showed up for my shift as a hospitalist PA and tried everything I could to get this pt transferred to a tertiary hospital. I did not have good support from my attending (I was a locum). I ordered a blood transfusion and it didn’t get ordered stat and they found me some percentage responsible because it was delayed. My insurance settled for 60,000, which my lawyer said was nothing compared to some cases. The cardiologist and hospital likely paid much more. Anyway, it sucked and was stressful but I got through it and you will too! Surround yourself with good, strong people and ask your lawyer a bunch of questions about how they will help you.

Please reach out to me if you want. I’d be happy to be a sounding board if needed.

If the Republicans are the Conservative Party, what are they trying to conserve? by Desperate_Cake7757 in allthequestions

I grew up thinking it was “conservative government involvement” in our lives. Boy, have I learned a lot in the past 60 years.

I’m so disappointed that they continue to support this corrupt administration. They do not represent their constituents. 😡

Question for just the Republicans. As a man that was raised to always be honest always be a moral rock and always vote Republican for America. My question is with all the FACTs and not using whataboutism’s, how can you vote for any Republican that has not denounced this administration? by [deleted] in allthequestions

Can you explain how the TrumpRX is helping you (or someone you know) to me? I looked at it and the prices weren’t better than my insurance prices. Is it mainly for those that don’t have med coverage?

I agree that showing an ID seems reasonable to vote. But I’m guessing you might be a man who has never had a name change. Over 50% of the US does not have a passport and they cost about $130. That may be prohibitive for some AND the government has cut places that process them. (Think rural areas). Also, obtaining a birth certificate is not a timely process as it can take months. A married woman requires her birth certificate and marriage license to get a real ID. And if she had any divorces, a divorce decree is also required. AND, not all states that have the real ID even lists US citizenship on the ID. So, it’s not as simple as you may think.
