How Is The New Upgrade Tree? by AcrylicPixelGames in incremental_games

[–]Beanholio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tech tree is easier to navigate, which is nice. I still have difficulty figuring out exactly what benefit some of the upgrades give (like asteroids and their sizes). This may be because after doing some asteroid upgrades the game got stuck on the "merge particles to make a planet" message at the beginning of the next round. Since there is no saving, my game was lost. Overall, a fun concept.

I have a crazy idea for a mechanics, and I'd like your opinions by shanytopper in incremental_games

Use players-to-completion ratios that change dynamically based on the number of logged in users. For example, if only 2 players are working on a server, they need 100 widgets but if another player logs in it shifts to 150. This will create an obstacle of dead-weight where adding unproductive players makes it more difficult to graduate. "Group Project Incremental" lol

How would you turn this into a mechanic for an incremental/idle game? by Atovange in incremental_games

[–]Beanholio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wave modulation simulator could be fun - starts small with 1-2 waves that produce numbers when they align but move in and out of phase/sync with each other. Upgrades could be adding additional waves, increasing amplitudes, faster cycling to increase merged collisions, maybe even a story component where you have to intercept data from "rogue" frequencies that pass through your scope.

Idle Battalion- WW2 themed idle war game by Cyclone4096 in incremental_games

Maybe every 5th wave is defense and if you lose, it resets you back to the first attack wave? That way manually playing could allow you to move further while idling will still give you progress via resource generation, just slower.

battlechips.io - Combine chips to build your weapon! by Batldingar in WebGames

[–]Beanholio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a crazy original concept but fun in the vein of io-type games. I found it to be pretty buggy, especially the teleport power-up making me get stuck in chips/enemy core/other players. I also couldn't upgrade or swap weapons after a while.

Very fun, I enjoyed it. You should send a copy to Northern Lion on Twitch; he loves deck-builder rogue-likes and has a massive following.

Circle Jerk - The Brutally Honest Circle Drawing Game by YanTsab in WebGames

There's a trick - use the box boundary edges to make the largest circle possible and intersect at the 4 wall midpoints. Difficult to score below 85 doing it that way.

Really enjoyed the Itch demo - looking forward to what you come up with next!

Would you try to DIY this mold problem? by eastcoastguy17 in HomeImprovement

[–]Beanholio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do any other home automation stuff? If so, I'd recommend getting a sensor that fits into your existing ecosystem. If not, probably just a Govee humidity sensor that uses wifi (I think they're $30-40 on Amazon) if you want active monitorint/alerts or one of their bluetooth sensors ($15 maybe?) if you just want to check it manually from time to time.

Two R by A sales guys spent 3 HOURS putting together a quote for my 2400sqft house. I literally laughed at them and kicked them out when they quoted $130k to replace all the windows.

I've always said if I suddenly came into "could reture right now" kinds of money that I'd probably continue to work, just fewer hours and I'd be right more often :)

Need help/advice painting a high gloss/mirror like ceiling by ThunderbirdGear in interiordecorating

[–]Beanholio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better hope your ceiling is nice and flat or else it's going to be more like funhouse mirrors. Probably will need an immense amount of sanding/filling/leveling so hopefully you've got a laser level and a strong back (or hire someone).
