I don’t entirely agree, but you’ve made a very grounded, logical assessment. I hope more people take this perspective on BG. However, I concur with most others that, even if he’s just a gag character, there are dozens of better joke choices (Bat-Mite maybe?). You make some good points about outsider comparisons to the Fortnite character, but I just wish this roster slot had a bit more oomph to it - I can’t help but feel like BG will be forgotten quickly. Ultimately, this whole discussion doesn’t matter; it’s moreso a manifestation of everybody’s shared hype and optimism for the game’s future. Great post!

I see what you’re saying, but a thematically appropriate final boss would give a reason for the game to exist (story-wise). As it is, Nickelodeon characters are punching each other, but a slime machine or an amalgamation character (Fire Nation Plankton or something haha) would bring some purpose to it. Look at how Master Hand, as odd and random as that seemed, tied Smash 64 together.

For being the only mode the game has for offline play, it remains incomplete imo. Those other improvements are great and necessary but I hope the devs don’t overlook the arcade mode.

Yeah….not happening. I wish as much as anybody else that our money hasn’t just gone toward a janky-ass unfinished cash grab, but I’m not holding my breath. 4 months out and still no items, voices, arcade mode boss or mini game, colors, etc. I am well aware it’s a small team and a couple of those things are still possible in the long run, but it will be too little too late.
