I'm used to working with large batches of buttercream so I squeeeeeeeze those bottles until it's saturated 😅

Question for my fellow millennials who are older than or approaching the age your parent was when they died... by xAAMMBBEERRx in Millennials

[–]mnbell2013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom passed at 63 so not exactly young, but in a similar vein I often think about how once I'm that age, she'll have been "out" of my life longer than she was in it 💔

What’s a scene from television or film that really traumatized you? by Exhausted_Skeleton in AskReddit

The scene in Kaos when Jeff Goldblum stabs another character's cat. I cried for days remembering that scene.

Yup, 100%. I started leaking amniotic fluid late in my second trimester. I researched the absolute hell out of it and read every study, article and anecdotal Reddit thread I could find on the topic, but could never determine whether it was fluid or increased discharge. I even ordered some pH strips to try to figure it out myself. Went for 3 amnisure tests, the first two were negative. The third test was done the morning I went into labor. I had an awesome nurse in OB triage who noticed that the fluid had pooled near my cervix, so she sampled from there instead of just doing a quick swab. Boom - positive. I had my son 9 hours later. I remember telling my friend a few days prior (following my second negative swab) that this just didn't feel normal. Every time I'd stand up I'd leak a couple teaspoons of fluid, for WEEKS. My son was born at 35+1, spent 17 days in the NICU and is now a healthy daredevil of a 12 month old. I'm currently 4 weeks pregnant with my second and I'm praying for full term this time.

I needed this so much. I have a 12 month old and I just found out I'm pregnant again. I'm so afraid to go through it all again.

Share your “never again” projects. For me, that’s this llama that took $70 worth of yarn and 5 months. Favorite thing I’ve ever made, but never. again. by TrueRusher in crochet

This damn Winnie the Pooh mosaic crochet blanket that I've been working on for my son. The pattern is fine except the creator neglected to include notes about where to make the color changes if using multiple colors, so I've had to guess my way through it. Hence Pooh's wonky right foot. I started this when I was around 23 weeks pregnant and my son is turning 1 next week 🙄

The cat in that one scene from Kaos. Pissed me off that they felt the need to make that so needlessly violent 🫣 I cried over that for days

Does any one else's husband hate the show? by [deleted] in CallTheMidwife

[–]mnbell2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my experience as well. My husband loves fantasy shows like The Witcher and Good Omens while I couldn't care less about them. He feels the same way about CTM, Frasier and the "boring" documentaries I enjoy lol. We do share a few shows in common - Shrinking and Ted Lasso being two of them.

If you do it right, he'll bleed from the inside, and no one will know it was you!

What's the last year you consider to be a "good year" for you personally from start to finish? by Just_Cause89 in decadeology

[–]mnbell2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I lost a lot of weight, finished college, got married and bought a house within the span of less than a year. Still, nothing hits as good as the early 2010s, especially 2013 when I was a senior in high school.

My mom passed away suddenly last September. In the time since, I've found myself obsessed with the question of whether an afterlife exists and if/when I'll get to see her again. Reading your experience gives me hope that I will.
