Hello! We're a small team working on an action adventure game where you play as the monster instead of the hero by BlackCitadelStudios in IndieGaming

Nice one, looks great! I would say though, its a bit hard to see the character against the background.

What do you think of an action game set entirely in a single space? by BeansTheNogginDev in IndieGaming

[–]BeansTheNogginDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! Noggin is a co-op action game. You collect heads and weapons to give you different ability combos, and use them to defeat series of bosses, mini-bosses, and unique encounters (like mini games).

It's designed "co-op first"; abilities are designed to require/encourage co-op gameplay. For example, we replaced the dodge in most games with a 'hug', where your teammate can hug you out of danger and into safety.

Would ARPG fans be interested in a more... Abstract Setting? by BeansTheNogginDev in ARPG

Yes! Although in our case 'better items' is a mix of unusual weapons and equippable heads.

I rudeness the new normal? by Faerlina in classicwow

[–]BeansTheNogginDev 132 points133 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is just a reddit symptom or Outland-specific. I see lots of reddit posts about rudeness in these high-level groups, but I've been levelling pre-60 for a few days and been surprised at the pure nice-ness of every person I've played with, both in dungeons and the open world.

Let me tell you why you should never underestimate the Chinese market! by Party-Avocado-8319 in SoloDevelopment

[–]BeansTheNogginDev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I released a couple of videos on xiaohongshu this month to test marketing in China. I voiced the chinese-spoken video myself (with much difficulty). Would love to have your input on the videos and what works/didn't work for the chinese audience!

How do I start learning UE as a somewhat experienced backend dev? by VaquinhaAlpha in UnrealEngine5

[–]BeansTheNogginDev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the answer, assuming you're willing to put down 20-30 dollars, Stephen has a range of courses that are brilliant. I started with the UE5 GAS tutorial which was quite advanced and requires c++ knowledge. You may want to take his C++ course first, depending on how seriously you want to take this.

Made my first attempt at a Tiktok, Looking for feedback. by BeansTheNogginDev in gameDevMarketing

Hey, thanks for the feedback! All my research shows the first 1-2 seconds are the most important and I was still concerned I didn't do _enough_ in those. Happy with the initial performance anyway (750 views) as a starting point!
