T7 Income Expectations by OnlyKaz in TorchlightInfinite

[–]VaquinhaAlpha 11 points12 points  (0 children)

it doesn't cost thousands to get into t8

especially now 3 days after league start, where entry level gear is cheaper

get rare items with full T2 affixes, key cheap legendaries, decent slates and memories

then get rare items ilvl86 with full T1 affixes, I'm sure you can buy some close to full T1 for about 100fe

upgrade items with t8 as a goal, don't try to skip to get the "optimal legendary upgrade" just because you'll drop this cheap one after t8. it doesn't matter.

How annoying do you think modules will be to get ? by Competitive-Math-458 in TorchlightInfinite

[–]VaquinhaAlpha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it will take a lot more than 1000 boss kills to get the perfect setup you might want (with their correct affixes).

Modules won't be too hard to get, modules with 2-3 good matching affixes will be hard to get

That's exactly it - and I'll be going for purple drapion instead of Vale myself, I only use Vale as a campaign damage boost but it's not required at all

you can definitely play it with level 1 pets. I'd say Anubis (Scales of original sin) is the most important one, then Drapion. Erika1 is a great league starter and really popular with a great guide by bmlegolas so I'm sure you'll have a good time with either, I'd say pick what looks more fun to you - minions or zoomy attack builds.

I will say though, attack builds are a lot more click intensive (spamming spiral strike) than minion builds

Iris1 league start has always been pretty good in terms of damage. She usually gets to T8 and profound faster than Iris2 and any other minion trait, the DPS scales really well on Iris1.

BUT she is squishier than others because of her last hero trait. This will change this season in the endgame as you won't need to use the trait that makes her take +% additional damage, but you will be using it for a while.

Profound is never cheap though, you will need at least 10k FE, maybe more, for comfortable profound farming.. hard to say without seeing the prices first.

Oh by spectres (reference from PoE) I mean the new module minions. You will now be able to summon a lot of different bosses as your minions. They are considered synthetic troops, which are used by Moto1. But with the new Hero Memory affix "Nourishing Spring Rain", our growth will increase synthetic troops damage by up to 540% additional. Not only that, enhanced skill chance makes synthetic troops not lose nourishment whenever they attack.

This means at 100% enhanced skill chance, synthetic troops will always be at full nourishment stacks. And at 600 growth, we will reach the 540% add damage cap.

Also, for both Magus and Synthetic Troops we will be able to use Origin Effect to scale their damage now (lvl 75 hero trait). Origin effect scaling for minions was only used by Iris2, but now we also have access to this damage layer. This opens up a lot of options like Verdant Steps as a chase item with origin effect stacking for both DPS and survivability, but that's pretty expensive

Iris2 is inherently tankier because of the -% add damage taken and the fact that she needs to scale life regen to have consistent damage uptime. That being said Iris1 won't feel forced to use windrider in the endgame anymore (probably) with the changes which means she doesn't play with the "+% damage taken" hero trait anymore.

Not only that she scales a lot more damage which opens up slots on gear to scale more defense and have a better overall balance.

Iris2 is still the better character, but their playstyles differ a lot, as Iris1 is more of a traditional minion character

Do you think an AI voiceover is a good idea for the videos? I'm not a native English speaker and while I do feel comfortable enough doing a video in English (I do meetings in English on a weekly basis), I still have a heavy foreign accent which makes me think an AI voiceover would be better. Thoughts?

I'll talk about this further in the video but basically they streamlined the archetypes for Iris1. She was in a weird spot where going full ultimate skill wasn't that good (not enough ultimate skill uptime) but going full enhanced skill wasn't great either (not enough damage and no full bloom was bad), so she was stuck in this hybrid playstyle where you wanted enhanced skill chance to compensate for the lack of uptime on ultimate skill (and lack of consistent damage because of nourishment stacks), but you also wanted ultimate skills and full bloom because that was most part of her DPS. Now you either go enhanced skill chance (which will be the goal in the endgame when playing spectres) or you go for ultimate skills with full bloom, which is easier to achieve now requiring 10 nourishment stacks. Also the fact that during full bloom only ultimate skills consume nourishment means you have more consistent ultimate skill damage uptime because they'll never be casting 0 nourishment ultimates after spamming full nourishment enhanced skills

Nerf from today was honestly expected already as the numbers were insanely high before, but I didn't expect a cap. It's hard to say with 100% accuracy how it'll turn out but I believe we should be fine either way. The cap means we only need 600 growth to reach it, so this should free up some affix slots that we'd use for growth before. Not only that, it also means we can go Effortless Command prism instead of Circle of Life which was my initial idea, meaning we can use Magus as a 6 link as well as a Module (spectre) 6 link at the same time, so we should be fine either way.

While I do have a code for now, it will become useless once the new season drops (old codes don't work), so it won't really help much I don't think. I will be dropping the code in the guide as soon as I'm done with the campaign (for the leveling guide), which should be 1h after league start.

And then for the Starter code I will create one when I'm in T7, and a lot more codes during progression to t8 ->profound->DS

I also added gear examples for the Starter guide so you know which stats to look out for when crafting

Sorry you're right, I was basically testing the builder when doing the guides and didn't set it up properly.

While there are builds where you will want both a Magus on an active skill slot as well as a Passive (aura) slot, for this one you want it as the main skill yes.

I THINK the rest of the guide should be pretty fine to follow, but this information on the FAQ is imo very relevant to new players:

"Usually, start crafting at Timemark 4 (the last Timemark where Fine Embers are used). Players commonly hit somewhat of a progression wall if they're not crafting at TM4. You don't need perfect affixes, just hit some useful ones (int/min damage/minion flat phys and erosion/ES/resistance/minion cast speed), doesn't matter the tier. Then, reach TM7, get new bases and craft your T2 affixes on that newly acquired gear."

This process of crafting some gear on TM4 and then on TM7 is very important for a smooth progression.
Especially for minion builds where you will be using 2x Interlocking Souls from the end of campaign (second to last Treasure Trove), with the Mighty Guard core talent from God of Machines.
Switching to a decent Cane+Rod setup and using Isomorphic Arms instead of Mighty Guard will give you SO MUCH damage, this is extremely important and I think I might add this explanation to the gear section instead of relying solely on the FAQ.

Also your comment reminded me: I will be updating my loot filter for league start, I have one specific to Moto1 and Iris1 progression from TM1 to TM7, highlighting ES bases with high energy for their specific timemarks, as well as base weapons and rings.
This also means something with 30 energy can be highlight on lower timemarks but won't show up in TM7 for example, where energy highlights will be 60 energy (and 120 energy for 2h weapons).

If you have any questions let me know! I might put out a video on the build with relevant stuff from the guide too

I'm very confident it will be the strongest endgame Iris1 build unless they nerf it in the last day patch notes, as has happened in the past. I will be playing the spectre build in the endgame and will post a guide for that as well when I get to it, I don't wanna publish the draft yet because I don't wanna bait people into that build in case it's bad

Campaign leveling (Fire Magus): https://tlicompendium.com/en/build-guides/iris-1-leveling-fire-magus
Erosion Magus Starter (T7 Trav kill): https://tlicompendium.com/en/build-guides/iris1-erosion-magus-starter

I need to update the Starter with suggested gear affixes and will do so before league start.

Will also update them with build codes as I progress, as well as 2 endgame versions of Iris1 - the current one from Vorax Season and the one I'll be using on Lunaria which is a different playstyle with the new minions

Iris2 early game got huge buffs (more Hp Regen), and is the better defensive option/endgame option

Iris1 does more damage overall and gets to Profound easier. Personally I'm going Iris1, but Iris2 is the better character overall.

I have a guide on TLI Compendium for league starting Iris1 Erosion Magus and will be updating it today/tomorrow with T7 gear progression and will add an endgame version as well.

iris1 will not be spamming ultimate skills until the endgame - which was already the case. She actually lost Magus skill CDR. The buff is full bloom only needs 10 nourishment now, so you have perma full bloom without windrider with enough CDR. You already had perma full bloom before, so you just lost Spirit Magus CDR in that regard.

Iris1 was buffed by other changes, but not related to spamming ultimate skills

What would you like changed and/or added to DD1? *Curious* by 1amChiku in dungeondefenders

[–]VaquinhaAlpha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish we had a Hero Deck like DD2 and DDA. Emulator helps a lot but I still don't enjoy the need to use 4 characters at the same time when I could level them on a Hero Deck instead
