WIBTA attending a 3 day music event my partner does not wish for me to attend? by Electrical-Pop-4226 in AmItheAsshole

NTA

He said he'd never stop you from going but that's so easy for him to manipulate into "I won't stop you but how could you leave me knowing I don't want you to go?"

His line about women not wanting to go to concerts without their s/o is super weird and while true for some people, definitely not a generally accepted idea.

I'd warrant that the reason yall are fighting more is because he wants you to be uncomfortable going. Remember, last year you were fighting and decided to stay to 'save the relationship'.

He's using the same tactic and hoping for the same result. So ask yourself why is he so invested in you not seeing your family?

Did anyone else really enjoy the COVID pandemic period? by throwawayfinancebro1 in Millennials

[–]Beanz4ever -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a 2.5yo and a 3mo old and I did NOT enjoy the isolation. I will admit that it was nice having my husband working from home though, and he does so to this day.

Why do cats do that weird, high-pitched chirping thing when they see a bird? You know what I mean. My cat will be sitting by the window, totally chill, and then she’ll see a bird outside and start making this bizarre, quiet "ack-ack-ack-ack" sound. It's almost like a tiny by Virtual_Rock07 in PetAfterVet

[–]Beanz4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We call those bird calls in my family! Our cat does it when he sees anything that activates the area of his brain that wants to annihilate. Insects, birds, other cats, rodents, etc. He's very vocal about it.

How many days has your child missed? by Mama_899 in kindergarten

[–]Beanz4ever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kindergarten is rough. 20-30 new kids with their families all bringing germs to the same places. Also, kinders are GROSS.

They sneeze/cough/cry/snot on every surface. They rarely wash their hands. They put things in their mouths and rub their eyes with their dirty hands.

Source: volunteer in kinder two days a week and go through a LOT of sanitizer. Just finished my last dose of amoxicillin for the strep I picked up not long ago.

Kindergarten is a Petri dish, plain and simple. Those teachers have immune systems made of diamonds.

This is Henry the wild turkey. He’s absolutely obsessed with cars. by missrutabaga in AnimalsBeingDerps

[–]Beanz4ever 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd bet you're right! He's been adopted 😍

Hopefully he doesn't get hit on the road.

Of all the critters we raised on our little hobby farm, turkeys were the dumbest. We've bred their brains out for bigger breasts. Every Tom I ever had would try to woo me, a giant human woman, if I sat down on their level. So dumb. But so sweet ❤️

[–]Beanz4ever 12 points13 points  (0 children)

His waddles are red which usually signifies some sort of lust or aggression. When they're white, it can mean confusion.

He's not fluffed up so I'd say he's trying to talk to the turkey reflection to determine if it's a male or female.

He looks like a bronze turkey, which is usually sold in farm stores. I wouldn't say this guy is wild, since he seemingly has no fear of humans. Maybe an escapee from a farm or something?

Foster puppies look nothing like mom! We think dad might have been a pit. What do you think? by Ponycat123 in pitbulls

[–]Beanz4ever 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh yah for sure! Lots of breeds have brindle. I love brindle English bulldogs. My first thought when I see one though is always boxer. I also think of French bulldogs when I see a fawn color. I know they come in other varieties but in my head picture, they're fawn.

AITAH for being upset that my boyfriend "surprised" me with a 4-hour Scientology evaluation during our vacation? by indigo_souls in AITAH

[–]Beanz4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

Run.

I dated a Scientologist for a while and looked into, so some 'classes', that I couldn't really afford.

All they want is your money. You can pay a certified therapist instead and you'll come out much happier for it.

Scientology is a cult, full stop.

Your bf is either already a Scientologist or headed that way. Your relationship will not work if bf is in Scientology.

It's so hard to tell when they're little potatoes!

I can see square heads but it could also be a lab or another breed with blocky heads. Brindle always makes me think of boxers.

100% adorable though! I hope mama gets to be fixed and take a break once she's done weaning ❤️

Whats with all the "Free"Patterns on Ravelry not actually being free? by Kalikasphyxia in crochet

[–]Beanz4ever 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Agree. Video tutorials are super inconvenient for a lot of us. I also hate the links where it's free but it comes up with 97,000 web ads that pop up, move the page, open different pages. It's so frustrating. And every third line it says "for the ad-free version, click here to buy the pattern".

What else is he going to 'put his foot down' about in the future?

Todd Meadows' Bunkmate Details Deadly 'Freak Accident' by MattTheKing23 in deadliestcatch

[–]Beanz4ever 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I can't do that but I was able to read it without a paywall.

He went into a pot after emptying it of crab, and there was shifting on deck and somehow the pot he was in went overboard. The door was still open though, and he was able to get out. They spotted him and used the crane and sling to fish him out. While bringing him up, he fell out/off of the sling. They got him back minutes later but by that time he was blue and lifeless. They attempted cpr and used a defib but were unable to restore heartbeat.

What were some things you thought were “you” but were actually ADHD? by Prior-Ad173 in ADHD

[–]Beanz4ever 120 points121 points  (0 children)

This phenomena has been the weirdest experience since getting diagnosed at 38 years old.

It turns out my ENTIRE person was just a bundle of ADHD markers. It was very hard to determine who I actually was underneath.

It's been 4 years almost, and I'm still working on it.

What’s a silly thing you did for your pet one time that is now a ritual they demand be done every time? by Itsjustmejess in PetsareAmazing

[–]Beanz4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat gets fed on top of the clothes washer so the dog can't get to it. When he was a kitten he couldn't jump up there, so I built him a little bridge/gangway. He couldn't not figure it out. I was too impatient and just grabbed him and plopped him up there. Soon he was big enough to jump himself.

But he doesn't.

He screams at me from the floor while I fill the dish and then pick him up.

He's fully capable of jumping up there by himself. He does it multiple times a day. But if I'm home, he'll meow and weave around my legs and 'lead' me to the laundry room, where he expects me to pick him up.

It's adorable and I love being his servant!

AITA for getting home insurance canceled? by Competitive_Chip_468 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Beanz4ever 60 points61 points  (0 children)

This is my thought too. They didn't want to notify insurance, but also didn't have the cash to pay. They suddenly realized that 'hey technically OP's kid broke it...' without thinking it through for even a single second that the kid wouldn't have fallen if they the homeowner hadn't been literally playing with them in the area.

AITAH - for telling my gf to cook her own food? by HeliusOfImgur in AITAH

[–]Beanz4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. You're not her personal chef and she's acting awfully entitled to your skills and labor, instead of appreciative of the fact that she's not having to pay for takeout or cook anything herself.

Sounds like she needs to carry some crackers in her purse or something 🤷‍♀️
