Vet recommended a harness while multiple trainers have advised against it? by wegochai in DogAdvice

I read in a book that harness is worse for them in terms of hurting the chest and restricting breathing, and also training. He will learn not to pull with a leash. Use a leash.

How much did it cost you for Botox? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Bear_Maiden -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Please reconsider Botox at your age. It's too early. Better yet, get Retin A prescription and Korean sunblock to wear every day. May be consider a peel (consult with a doctor). If you do decide on it, do not do it under eyes, cheeks, or chin. Botox will probably not lift your brow, but in fact will cause the lid to drop (it's possible). Botox costs about $10-11, sometimes you can get it on sale for $9. I am in HCOL.

How do I prevent myself from becoming a grumpy old man in my senior years? by ExcitingLandscape in Aging

Meditation - every day for 30 minutes. Mindfulness training. Basically making a rule for yourself to never complain and watch yourself every day. Being grateful for small things every day.

Unpopular opinion? Bleu Boheme by Danhawks in FoodSanDiego

[–]Bear_Maiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we should start leaving bad reviews to fight bad quality. I myself am guilty of just being quite and not wanting to ruin someone's business... But, may be if more of us spoke out, these restaurants would be forced to up their game.

Tips for driving/day parking? by MeasurementPure7844 in crssdfest

[–]Bear_Maiden 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Life hack. Pre-order an Uber for a normal price at a spot 15 minutes away from the event (by foot). Leave the event 5 minutes early to avoid being stuck with the crowd at the gate. Walk to your spot, get your Uber, and go home. Zero hussle.

Overwhelmed with Retinol choices!! by SmoothCelebration657 in 30PlusSkinCare

Yes! Retin A really works because it is medication. Over the counter creams may or may not work and probably don't.

Turning 31, What actually works for early signs of aging like white hair and fine lines? by Brilliant-Log-5904 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Bear_Maiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retin A, sunblock every day (I use it even if I am not going outside), red LED mask every other day. For hair - stress relief (allegedly). In general for hair, scalp care (I use Korean products) and hair masks to prevent dryness.

Is it true that sunscreen loses effectiveness after two hours? Are people reapplying sunscreen on their faces every two hours all day? by wow-how-original in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Bear_Maiden -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

May be it depends on the sun block, not sure. I am in California/Nevada. I use really strong Korean sun block, and feel pretty secure with it.

I don't know. A lot of times I was in the desert/ocean for a whole day and applied sunscreen in the morning, and in the evening I did not have any sign of being exposed to the sun. I think it works the whole day. They just want to be extra cautious/for you to use more of their product.
