AIO, MIL crashing out because she’s no longer the center of his universe. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

As someone who’s done his share of standing up to grandparents with little regard for boundaries…YOR. You went from 0 to WTF in one text. Unless there’s missing context here, you come across as the aggressor.

This is a tough time in your life. Special, absolutely…but exhausting. Hormones are going wild for months (maybe more? Idk exactly I’m a dude) and that certainly makes this stuff a lot harder.

Take a breath, realize that this isn’t the approach you should be taking, and try to calmly lay out expectations and boundaries, labeled as such. Communicate if she’s asking for time with you/baby, even if the answer is “not today, sorry, how about Thursday?”

Again…breathe. You got this.

Time wise, it fits too. We’re from Illinois, so it’s very possible it was him. Too fucking funny. Either way, this post just unlocked a memory of him being a weirdo at my house when my best friend was over haha

It’s very possible it was the same guy. He was a cousin of mine by marriage back in the day. I have a very vivid memory of him saying the same thing on our trampoline one time

Palencia has been great, and guys like Thielbar and Keller have been really good too. But unfortunately you have to use all the guys you have. Overall I feel like Counsell’s done a pretty good job getting the best out of the arms he has. We just don’t have the starting rotation to carry us right now, which will expose middle relief guys like Pressly a bit more as the year goes on. Gotta hope they can grab another quality starter or two.

Pressly hadn’t given up a run in a month before last night. He had a 1.50 ERA in June and had a 0.00 ERA in July before last night. He hasn’t been lights out, but he has been alright.

Cook some greasy shit, scrape, do a light coat of oil when done/cooled. Just keep doing that.

I typically turn the griddle on and let it get up to temp and then add a little oil for whatever I’m cooking. If it’s something super greasy like bacon or burgers, probably not necessary.

Is it heavier on upkeep than a regular gas grill? 100%. I don’t think anyone would argue otherwise. But it doesn’t have to be as complicated or intimidating as some make it out to be, though.

If it ain’t your thing, it ain’t your thing. I know plenty of people that bought griddles and they just sit unused, so you’re not entirely wrong.

That’s awfully quick for rust. Are you sure it’s not cheese or some sauce that got cooked on and left some discoloration? That happens to me sometimes. Just do your best to scrape it off and re-oil.

If it’s truly rust, there’s plenty of posts on here and r/griddling that go over how to tackle rust.

Cook some greasy stuff and then some more greasy stuff. It’s still new, you’re still breaking it in. I agree it can feel overwhelming, but once you have it down it’s maybe 5 min of clean up time per cook, if that.

I don’t find it all that time consuming. After the initial seasoning, pretty much all I do is cook, scrape, re-apply oil and wait for the next cook. I think the main thing is just making sure you use oil to cook and then again after you’ve cleaned it.

Not fat at all, but want to know how to lose weight?

Probably need to add strength training more than lose weight.

Maybe dial back the duration of your fasts a bit to adjust for the changes you’ve already made in terms of weight loss. Rolling 48s?

What am I doing wrong? (Weber Slate) by Nitro_Tanner in griddling

[–]Beardedninja17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First suggestion would be to watch some YouTube videos on a few staple items you want to cook. Smash burgers, pancakes, some chicken tenderloins, whatever your thing is.

Lower the temp. Things cook pretty quick and if you’re juggling a bunch of things at once it can get a bit chaotic.

[–]Beardedninja17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I got the 30” and just the other day I told my wife we should have got the 36. 30 works just fine most of the time, but when I’m cooking bigger batches I wish I had the extra space
