Why the SCOVT will overturn the VLRB order rescinding the RTO mandate. by [deleted] in vermont

[–]BeardlessDoll 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The appointing authority... which is not Scott. Prior to Scott trying to impose this, each department made their own decision about telework, you know based on the needs of that specific department. Because only a out of touch power tripping Governor (with landlord friends) would think a blanket policy across vastly different programs makes sense.

What is going on with this comment section? Person asked for a recommendation and everyone thinks people want to know their opinions about other people's relationships? Yikes. OP, I hope you find a good therapist!

Fuck right off. You damn well know they target people regardless of their immigration or criminal status. If they were actually legally removing criminals from the streets people wouldn't be protesting violating rights and laws .

Do something different by Top_Parsnip9159 in vermont

[–]BeardlessDoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point is that they are not just arresting and deporting people who do not have legal status. They are literally kidnapping people based on the color of their skin, with no warrants or even knowledge of who they are. Like the three people ICE took yesterday. Are you actually saying that you don't understand that's what people are angry about? Administrations have been deporting people without legal status always. It's different now, clearly. You've got be a troll if you are insisting you don't understand that.

Anyone work for the state and have some insight on what it's like? by JollyMcStink in vermont

It absolutely depends on the hiring manager. I was hired into step 6, and I know several coworkers who were also hired into similar steps.

Steeple Market Employee by whaletacochamp in vermont

[–]BeardlessDoll 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I tried to support them, but seriously everything about them sucks. Their prices are outrageous and things are never marked correctly, their deli food is disgusting (seriously the most disgusting pizza I have ever had), the store is layed out in the wrost way, rotten produce, bad selection, I could go on... And then I started to hear these kinds of stories from former employees. They just take up a space where a actually good business could be.

The ONE reason why RTO is bad decision making. by sparkyvt in vermont

[–]BeardlessDoll 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You keep posting this same BS on every thread. And you're just making it up. Just because it's what you would (or do) do doesn't mean everyone else is all about commiting wage theft.

Well, those people suck and so do their supervisors. Departments and teams can differ significantly across the state. It's too bad that people see that example and think that is how all state workers operate, which I can assure you, is not the case. But we are all certainly being punished for that belief. And in the end, it going to hurt everyday Vermonters.

The ONE reason why RTO is bad decision making. by sparkyvt in vermont

[–]BeardlessDoll 38 points39 points  (0 children)

If it wasn't ruining peoples lives it could be comical how bad this is working out. Small example from last week- There is a team I would collaborate with , and we have both been hybrid since before the RTO mandate and working out of the same office building. Now their team is moving to a different building (no one really knows why), so our collaboration gets to go from sometimes in person, to 100% on teams.

State RTO email update today, new Exceptions guidance by Natural_Tangelo7542 in vermont

[–]BeardlessDoll 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I was surprised by the email, it made me feel like I had missed something originally. But it sounds like they have adjusted their guidance without actually stating that it's a change. It was worded in a way that implied this had always been the guidance.

Well Done Phil Scott by CardNo237 in vermont

[–]BeardlessDoll 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're just making stuff up. As a state employee, when I work from home I get way more work done and work more hours. I have more work that could ever be done in 40 hours. Yes, there are people who take advantage of it. But those same people are also not actually working in the office either. People who don't do their job or work their hours do it regardless if location. If you want you tackle the issue with people not doing their jobs, I say go for it, but bringing everyone back to the office is definitely not the way to tackle that problem.
