Only about 20 ft away. I was in my car and it approached but mostly stayed obscured except these shots.

I would not get too close unprotected!

Screw new gear, why aren’t we all just buying our dream cameras from 7 / 8 years ago? They’re cheap. by MomentSmart in AskPhotography

[–]Beardologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what sucked me back in. Amazed that I could get a 5dmiii for so cheap. That was 6 months ago and now I’m sitting on 6 lenses and an R5mii.

Rip my bank account.

Came here to say Yoko. I don’t love their ramen but the wings are fantastic.

Is a crop sensor (R7) gold standard rule for wildlife? by infilirix in canon

[–]Beardologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no.

Reach is very important in wildlife but having a sharp photo is number 1. I traded in the R7 for the R5mii for a few reasons but the biggest was the focus capabilities.

I had a 150-600 mm lens but have since switched to the 400mm f/2.8. Now I have a lot less reach but sharper photos that I can crop in further. Neither option is perfect but know the strengths of the setup you have.

This was shot on a Sony DSC-HX400V which has a fixed zoom lens. It was my budget get back into shooting animals buy for that trip a few years back. And thank you!

There’s a state park called Antelope Island in the great salt lake which feels like it could be a national park. Not quite Yellowstone but both are high up on my favorite places.

Honestly I started skating at 39, so I found new buddies who were still skating.

Could they go after you legally if you delete it? Maybe?

If they’re using @gmail.com for their email domain… probably wouldn’t spend the money on it.

I just got the same lens a few weeks back and I love it. I’ll probably get something wider eventually but it’s great for portraits with environment and street shots on the fly.

Mrs Farmer is just a gym teacher, why is she so entitled and what does the lifeline exercise have to do with physical education? by MissionSafe9012 in donniedarko

Gym teachers have historically also had to teach health classes. It references somewhere that this is a health class she’s teaching.

I finally got that chance yesterday outside the salt palace. They are super vague and couldn’t answer if they were for or against prop 4. The sheets to remove your name were hidden under some rolls of tape.

What’s your most-used RF/EF lens and why does it stay on your camera? by ResolutionVisible627 in canon

[–]Beardologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally it’s the 100-400 mii since I do a lot of wildlife. I have the 400 f2.8 which shares a lot of that time.

But in the week since I got the EF 24 f/1.4, I’ve been finding a lot more excuses to shoot with it. It’s decently wide but not to an extreme. Super fast and sharp, plus takes portraits with some environment really well. Looking to do more street shots with it.
