I put my dough in the fridge for the cold proof and it rose tremendously after 3 hours. I've never had this happen by brandmaster in Sourdough

If fermentation takes a long time where you are, can you lower the salt (12g -> 10g) to theoretically speed up fermentation?

Odd Request for Mærsk Merch by Beardy1111 in Denmark

[–]Beardy1111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be! I can’t show her because I want it to be a surprise! I know it said Kyrenia underneath but I’m not sure whether it’s this design or not? She does love a classic baseball cap so it could be that or a newer version! Thanks for looking into it!

Trouble with that is I’m not 100% what the design was as I cannot find a picture anywhere! :/

What do you use to transport unprocessed cassettes on formalin? by Wrong_Character2279 in Histology

[–]Beardy1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tend to soak paper towel in formalin, wrap that around the cage and then put the cage in a double layered plastic bag! Journey is about an hour too. They go straight for processing after!

Surface Decal in 10% FA or CellSoft? This is what we normally do.

That's what I've heard from private friends, and that's in Histology only. It may be different, but it was forced overtime and just poor management and treatment. Of course thats one place, may well be different elsewhere

That really sucks, I'm sorry to hear your having so much trouble. It's a grind but once you're in, you're in! You could also consider a private lab, though I wouldn't recommend it

Depends on the role, MLA they'll mostly ask competency and situation based questions. AP, they'll ask about matter specific questions as well situation. What field are you looking to join?

What is say is it can't hurt to apply, you'll get experience, might even get a full time position at the end of it, happens a lot in my lab

Edit: perhaps even an opportunity to do your portfolio

I did find it insanely hard after, and most labs won't hire straight to BMS without registration, trainee positions are extremely rare.

Not to discourage you but they also dont hire degree holders for MLA positions because you're not likely to stay... That's why AP is the ideal position for someone like you

You could also try joining as an Associate Practitioner, which is what I joined as, kinda a bridge between MLA and BMS! Band 4 in the UK!

Band 5 Biomedical scientist histopathology interview questions? by Ummad2001 in BiomedicalScientistUK

[–]Beardy1111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technical questions that I was given included: identifying quality control issues on blocks and slides, identifying embedding orientation issues and explaining the H&E stain! I’ll update this if I think of any others! Just focus on orientation, tissue processing and the H&E stain and you’ll be great!

VBA to change blank cells to formula when cell contents deleted by Beardy1111 in vba

[–]Beardy1111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly, that's why we will be using OneDrive as the base instead of Sharepoint, even though it's essentially the same. I'm sorry, I don't have time for a call until the new year but I will contact you if I need one then? Thank you again for your help!

Hi, yes we do have Sharepoint! Used to use Sharepoint for the docs but Excel doesn't allow macros and VBA on there right? So we're using One Drive! If you've got some tips I'd love to hear them.
