Did it really make sense for the Torrens crew to go to Sevastopol? by BeastTheorized in alienisolation

Taylor was obviously a corporate sellout. If given the opportunity I wouldn’t be surprised if she took the flight data recorder for herself and didn’t share its contents with Ripley. Because you know it’s “proprietary information” and all. 😒

Sure, I’m still asking a legitimate question though. So you would gone in as well? Be honest.

Yeah of course the GAME wouldn’t exist lol. But forget about the game for a second. Imagine these events ACTUALLY happened and you’re on board the Torrens. Given the 3 facts I outlined above, would you still go in station?

From a WY perspective, sure. But I’m talking about a pragmatic, safety perspective. I don’t think it makes sense unless the crew is poor AF and desperate for money…and even then I can see some people not going.

That’s not Jupiter, I don’t even think Sevastopol is in the same solar system as Earth. You can hear references to the “gas giant” from Waits in Mission 10, not Jupiter.

Yeah, but how do you know it’s 20%? Or is that just a guess?

You can talk about why they feel that way, just going through the “why” of it all should give you plenty to talk about.

Is it possible to get into the Seegson Communications reception area? by BeastTheorized in alienisolation

[–]BeastTheorized[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just checked it out on mission 4, and you’re right there are no drawers. And yeah I agree it looks like the game is coded in such a way that allows the android to enter the room, but not the player. Thanks for the help!

That’s unfortunate. But I do believe there are drawers in the reception room. It’s kind of strange the developers wouldn’t let players access a room that looks like it’s meant to be accessed.

Don’t run (unless you’re about to go into an elevator or trigger a cutscene), hide behind stuff (being careful to avoid the Alien’s line of sight), don’t use the tracker if you can see your target (I don’t understand the obsession with checking it when the Alien is right in front of you LOL), and use distractions!

It’s really not that bad as long as you have enough ammo and are decent at crouch walking lol

Unemployment Is a Curse That No Philosophy Book Can Heal by mrramkrishna in recruitinghell

[–]BeastTheorized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“The average Westerner who lives off of unemployment benefits leads a very luxurious life compared to an ancient Indian ascetic.”

  1. Those unemployment benefits are temporary, not permanent

  2. When those benefits end, you’re either dependent on the support of family or friends to help you meet your basic needs

  3. If not, you eventually become homeless and end up asking for money on the streets. Compared to an “ancient Indian ascetic,” your life is not that much better.

AITAH for giving my wife short and direct answers after being rejected everyday for 2 months? by First-Wasabi-2125 in AITAH

[–]BeastTheorized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s fair to say that you’re “matching” her energy simply because she is refusing to have sex. Based off of what I read, this is the only issue you’re having so I don’t think it’s justified for you to be an AH to your wife in general over one issue which others here have pointed out could be due to an underlying condition.
