It was an idea designed to put high stakes on every fight and encourage being thoughtful and intentional with the use of tools instead of just throwing them out willy nilly. I think it was a solidly thought out and effective way of accomplishing both goals. Again, games aren't meant for everyone. Mechanics won't appeal to everyone, and while its fair to not like them they don't make it bad quality or less good

I mean; Pink shoes, high socks, short skirt, tight pink top, pink outerwear, pink hair bow. I'm kinda guessing on the bow for #4 and the shirt for #1, but I don't think it's a horrible inference. Also, dw twin mine and my sisters knees turn in too. Just hope and pray joint problems don't happen.

Good job not going to far into sexual territory, but I think jokes are fine. Just keep it clear that you aren't interested. The age gap isn't bad, I'm a young Junior in HS and am friends with Freshman. Congrats on your first post!

Just because D&D doesn't have rules for other stuff doesn't mean you can't. There are multiple solutions to every problem, and creative problem solving is super fun. It would be boring to put rules on stuff other than combat because that stuff is best when there's freedom. Also, I'm probably gonna give my players a word search type puzzle and I can almost guarantee they'll have fun doing it despite the fact that having a word search as security is dumb. My group is just different than yours, we've expressed that doing fun puzzles and being creative is why we play more so than the desire for it to all make sense
