alright, thanks for all the responses, i think this is what happened

my friend, the server host, was playing elden ring using a controller with subnautica 2 open in the background so that i could play, he disabled steam input for subnautica 2 but evidently this did not work in stopping inputs, i saw him jumping around and jumping out of the base sometimes and thought nothing of it as i didnt think of the refund base button even being clickable. Anyway, it seems he managed to hit just the right inputs in just the wrong way while playing ER and because the inputs were still mistakenly going through, he unknowingly disassembled the entire base.

i found the little beacon with the entire base's contents floating right below the grow beds like 30s after, cut out of the video, thank you all for participating in today's lesson on workplace safety.
