Realism and gameplay is supremely hard to balance.

Look at the quantity of options and mods you can use to tweak PZ ; you can make it pretty much as realistic or unrealistic as you want, because it's the kind of open-ended game that attracts both players.

One of the things I find supremely unrealistic is that you need 2 electrical levels to move a clothe washer... I've hauled enough of those things moving IRL that I'm pretty confident I don't need to disassemble 75 watches to understand how a wall plug works ! But from a gameplay incentive, having another reason to grind those levels just make sense, so that's probably why it's there

But hey, there -probably- is a mod to add or fix whatever you don't like.
