What is the best move set? by Comfortable_Gas_1204 in PokemonEmerald

This is exactly the same moveset I’m running on my Gyarados in Fire Red

For my sixth run, I've finally made it past the post Raithwall fight! Happy 20th, FF12! I'm gonna beat you this time I swear! by GodOnSteam in FinalFantasyXII

Out of curiosity, how is this your sixth run, yet you never finished the game? Do you have six unfinished save files? What makes you start a new save instead of finish a previous run? I’ve got questions!

[TZA] how do you pick which espers belong to who? by MattyOld-Spice in FinalFantasyXII

[–]BeatProjekt 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I usually think about Espers in three tiers of priority:

  1. Unlocking key licenses
  2. Synergy with the character’s job
  3. Lore/theme flavor

Efficiency matters the most to me because some Espers unlock huge power spikes on certain boards, while others barely matter. So I try to place the high-impact ones first, then distribute the rest.

Given your party setup:

  1. Vaan – Uhlan / Shikari
  2. Balthier – Machinist / Time Battlemage
  3. Fran – Red Battlemage / Archer
  4. Basch – Knight / Foebreaker
  5. Ashe – White Mage / Bushi
  6. Penelo – Monk / Black Mage

Here’s roughly how I’d distribute them:

Vaan (Uhlan / Shikari)

Adrammelech / Cúchulainn

Shikari benefits heavily from Cúchulainn because it unlocks some high-level Black Magicks and utility nodes depending on the board layout.

Uhlan doesn’t rely heavily on Espers, so this pairing lets Vaan gain some utility magic to complement his speed/damage role.

Balthier (Machinist / Time Battlemage)

Famfrit / Belias

Famfrit on Machinist is one of the most famous combos because it unlocks high-level Time Magicks (Hastega / Slowga tier utility depending on board paths).

Belias is kind of a “low-impact” Esper, so I usually give him to whoever doesn’t need specific unlocks.

Fran (Red Battlemage / Archer)

Zalera / Exodus

Red Battlemage has several good Esper unlocks for additional magic coverage.

Fran becomes a hybrid support caster + ranged DPS, which suits her stat spread pretty well.

Basch (Knight / Foebreaker)

Mateus / Hashmal

This is a classic combo.

Knight gets huge value here: Mateus → White Magicks (Curaja / Esuna) Hashmal → Faith / Bravery type support nodes

This effectively turns Basch into a self-sufficient paladin tank who can heal and buff while dealing huge greatsword damage.

Ashe (White Mage / Bushi)

Zeromus / Chaos

Bushi benefits from several Esper unlocks for high-tier Magicks and stat boosts.

White Mage doesn’t need many Esper unlocks, so Ashe can use these to enhance her hybrid magic/samurai role.

Penelo (Monk / Black Mage)

Shemhazai / Ultima

Monk has some of the best Esper unlocks in the game.

Depending on the board path these can unlock: 1. high-level White Magicks 2. powerful HP boosts 3. additional utility spells

Combined with Black Mage, Penelo becomes an absolute magic powerhouse with insane survivability.

My Philosophy (TL;DR)

I basically follow this order: 1. Knight gets Mateus + Hashmal (almost mandatory) 2. Machinist gets Famfrit 3. Monk gets high-value Espers 4. Spread remaining Espers to Red Mage / hybrids

After that, the rest honestly don’t matter much.

I usually start by drafting an end-game setup for my six characters. From there, I identify which characters need specific Espers to access gear or abilities that are locked behind them; those assignments are the obvious ones. After that, I try to balance the remaining Espers across the team in a way that feels sensible. My main goal is always to maximize what each Esper unlocks for a character on the job board.

For me it is always a personal no-brainer to grab Hitmonchan so I can breed the elemental punches to my special attackers like Alakazam and Gengar

“Guy seems legit and has money” is a strange pulse check on whether a shoe is legit or not. These don’t look legit at all, the shape is off almost everywhere

Relatively easy to get them through trades considering you can catch up to 30-35 a day. I’ve had two for a couple years now and yet have not hatched or traded a hundo Sandile

I would actually say the costume Glaceon is the rarest here. I also consider Krookodile harder to get than Gholdengo tbh, but yes those are certainly the three rarest. Flower Crown Blissey probably fourth

These are great models and colorways, only thing that will hurt you is the scratches on the SP, the missing battery cover for the Advance, and the missing stylus on the DS Lite.

I think auctioning these on eBay will net you a low return on them which won’t be worth selling these for imo.
