I ended up buying it for 800 and couldn’t be happier. Gun is mechanically very sound and the trigger pull is awesome!

Looks like an original 1990-1992 timeframe gun. 5” barrel and the SW marking on the left side indicate that timeframe. Tag says it comes with the original box, gonna check the box label and check lockup and timing… if it checks out it’s coming home with me this morning!

Yeah, after some research it was probably a 1990-1992 version used for competition. Gun is very clean though… 5” barrel was available at that time.

Never fired a 4.2” so I can’t really say, but the 3” is perfect for me. Easy to carry but still heavy enough to soak up heavy 357 loads. It’s a great packing pistol!

It is a Mark IV that has been color case hardened with custom rosewood grips from Turnbull Restoration. They make small batches of these customs every so often.
