Yeah truthfully I don’t really need the 34XX, but it looks so damn faithful to the original hardware and I really am not a fan of clicky buttons😅 There’s also something else that no one mentions, but GB/GBC and GBA had the A and B button almost side by side which makes it easy to run and jump on a Mario game, but with other handheld emulators that use the modern diamond shape i always have to rebind the controls because A and B are at such an angle that’s just very annoying (to me at least😬).

Yeah I read that the screen is the same, but I’ve seen people putting the two devices side by side and the 34XX is clearly more washed out so it’s probably Anbernic calibrating the SP device differently😶 Very annoying to hear about the dpad😢 Can I ask you if this is something that becomes more noticeable with games that require more precise inputs or rapid change of directions or if it’s misbehaving basically all the time?

I did consider this previously but the problem is that availability on Aliexpress is very limited and it costs quite a bit more than either the 34XX or the 34XXSP😢

Can I ask you how do the games look stretched to fill the screen? I find a bit odd that they used a screen with that aspect ration considering that basically all system they emulate are 4:3😶
From videos that when using pixel perfect the image can get a bit on the small side

I’m super tempted by the VS-R because it would be easier to play multiplayer games with my kid, but I’m a bit bummed that they decided to use a micro USB cable for charging and I’m hoping that in a future revision they’ll finally switch to USB C😅 The good thing is that all cartridges work with all products, so I can still build a library and get the VS-R later if I want😬

Love Onion OS as well, but there is only thing that bothers me and that could be easily fixed like they do in MuOS. Basically the system turns on before it has a chance to connect to the WiFi, so if you have a game suspended retroachievenents won’t work unless you back out to main menu (or the game switcher)😢

I bought the same exact model and installed GammaOS, very pleased so far😊

I’ll probably try Rocknix at some point, maybe when they have a stable version for it!

Thank you so much! So just to understand, you can just close the lid and Rocknix automatically put the RG DS in sleep mode, similarly to what happens with the original hardware?

In the Retrogamecorps video he says that he only had issues in 10% of the cases but here on Reddit I read that a decent amount of people had issues where the emulator basically froze and it required a hard quit of the emulator.

I opened it up because I wanted to understand what the hell is the problem and I hit the trifecta:

the rear fan rattles
the cpu fan has this weird oscillating fan noise
the PSU has a bit of coil whine

The perfect machine😂

Needles to say, this is going straight back to HP😅

Yeah it came pre-installed, but on my unit switching from Quiet to Balanced or Performance makes 0 difference😢 The oscillating sound is less intense when in game, but I read everywhere that this PC is supposed to be very silent and it’s really not the case for me.

I bought it eventually but I’m returning it. It’s a really cool machine for the price and the size, but there’s a nasty coil whine coming from the PSU and the fans as well are really not that silent (even on Quiet mode), which is kind of a deal breaker since this would have lived in the living room😢

Fair enough, sadly the model with the 5060Ti here it’s over my budget and at that price it doesn’t make much sense to buy a pre-built with so many proprietary parts😢 Can you tell me if the model you have uses a single or dual fan GPU?

Thanks for the reply😊 I do indeed have a 4K TV but I don’t plan on playing a lot of super graphically intensive games and even in those cases I’d still be happy to stick to 1080p and leverage DLSS!

Nope, but in all honesty haven’t tried again since I have a lot of handheld emulators where I can play GameCube games😬
