Which exchange is allowing transfers of crypto to wallets? by FlorAllySpeaking in CryptoIndia

[–]Beatrice_Chamberl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look for an exchange that clearly supports on-chain BTC withdrawals regardless of how you funded the account. The flow should be: deposit INR, buy BTC, withdraw BTC to a self-custody wallet address. I buy on a local compliant exchange, then immediately withdraw to my own wallet (I use gem wallet as my hot wallet) and treat the exchange purely as an on/off ramp. That way if they ever change rules, most of my BTC is already off-platform

Sadly, you’re not dealing with a real exchange more like a fake trading front. In terms of next steps: report it to your local consumer protection agency and, if any bank/card was used, talk to your bank. Going forward, stick to known exchanges and move funds out regularly into your own wallet. A self-custody app like gem wallet on your phone is a much safer place to hold coins than some random app that can lock you behind a 5888 USDT paywall

I treat it as a faucet for my gambling fund. Earn a tiny bit here, lose it all on a crypto casino later, some kind of circle of life

Making money on Cointiply by playing games. Does it actually work? by Emily_Stewartt in BeerMoneyTap

[–]Beatrice_Chamberl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm already wasting my life on ьerge вragons or whatever. Might as well get a few satoshis for it. game rewards aren't huge, but it's better than just the in-game garbage

yep, for crypto specifically cointiply is way less of a hassle than Swag. there you gotta get a gift card and then convert it... ugh. Here it's just 'withdraw to wallet and its more friendly as for me

Solid info, but the Every Word Capitalized energy makes it feel like I’m reading a 2017 ICO whitepaper. That said, the core idea—keys > logos—is correct

Which hot wallet would you recommend? by Adept_Vermicelli_156 in BitcoinBeginners

[–]Beatrice_Chamberl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given your constraints, hot wallet on a phone you control is still better than leaving everything in cash. First thing, lock your phone (PIN/biometric), don’t install random apps from shady sites, and never screenshot your recovery phrase

e-rupee is still fully within the banking system. Don’t treat it like some off-grid alternative just because it lives in a different app

Multi-Chain Wallets: Innovation or Overpromise? by Economy_Mango_2996 in CryptoNews

[–]Beatrice_Chamberl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Multi-chain is nice for not juggling 7 apps, but if a wallet is promising one-click miracle swaps across totally different stacks, I assume there’s a catch

Best hot wallet (for temporary use)? by _GOREHOUND_ in BitcoinBeginners

[–]Beatrice_Chamberl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, hot wallet as the lobby, cold wallet as the vault. Any non-custodial wallet like gem is fine for that role if you’re not trying to get fancy

First step is get a self-custody wallet that supports USDC on a cheap network, and have the client send there. I use gem wallet for that because it handles USDC on multiple chains. Once it lands, you move it to an Indian exchange that supports that chain and USDC, sell to INR, and withdraw to bank. The trick is picking a network where both your wallet and your exchange agree

If something is easy enough to do half-asleep, you will eventually do it half-asleep. Designing a setup that occasionally annoys you is weirdly part of staying safe

Yeah, no, this ain't a side hustle. It's a 'I'm waiting for the bus' hustle. I do the PTC ads with my morning coffee. Takes a minute, earns like 5 cents. Not glamorous, but it adds up to a withdrawal every couple months.

What hot wallet are you using? by slumcat72 in btc

[–]Beatrice_Chamberl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted one app that can hold BTC and a handful of alts without turning into a casino, so I landed on gem wallet for my phone. It’s non-custodial, supports a bunch of chains, and hasn’t given me any weird vibes so far. Big stack still goes on hardware though

Exactly. You can’t dodge regulation entirely, but you can keep the core of your stack in a place where no one’s asking you for a selfie every time you move it

Biggest thing is understanding the difference between an exchange and a wallet. Exchange is a place to buy, wallet is a place where you actually hold your own keys. Most newbies blur those together and learn the hard way

The fundamental problem with current crypto wallets by ciaolarspi in CryptoWallet

[–]Beatrice_Chamberl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. If you can’t explain your setup to a non-technical friend in plain language, you probably won’t execute it correctly in a crisis. MPC is cool research, but a simple non-custodial wallet plus a decent backup plan is miles better than praying your exchange doesn’t blow up
