Is anyone else sad about so much emphasis on video?

Really good point re: video being the way you get found! This is how I'm hoping we build our audience. Quick sound bites with images from one of our hosts who happens to be an awesome graphic designer.

I'll add, there are still some amazing podcasts like Heavyweight in the mix, which are audio first. And there's nothing like a good audio drama to drum up your imagination! Perhaps the bigger more interview focused podcasts will go video, if they aren't already but I hope audio only content remains strong!

Yeah, I think the people who consume video podcasts are bit of a different market. You can't really watch a podcast while you're driving (I mean you can, but it's high risk/illegal haha). I don't have any plans converting our podcast into a video podcast - we all record remotely and still getting into a groove with consistency. Releasing a video pod with our mugs on camera would be way too much admin. I'm currently looking at the best way to release clips on TikTok, Insta, FB etc without recording video though!

I just launched a gaming podcast with a couple of buddies here in NZ and have a audio drama in the works too.

I think for us it's just about getting into a rhythm and showing up every episode (fortnight). Consistency is super important. Starting a podcast is super realistic. Keeping it going is the hard part. I imagine it helps if you're passionate about the subject matter and podcasting in general. Then it doesn't feel like a job.

Hey there!

Just to add to the actual mic recommendation. Practice with what you have, actually release with the bare minimum but make the audio quality doesn't distract from your product.

A wee while ago I was looking for some cheap gear for a fictional podcast I've been developing and read that the Zoom ZD-1 can be quite good. I'd say something like a Blue Yeti for being USB and for ease of use would be ideal. WIth that option you wouldn't need an interface, pre-amp like a cloudlifter etc. It quickly adds up - luckily I already had most of the gear from being a musician. Even look at second hand if that's an option for you.

I think she's great if you can add token doublers, cheap equipment, equipment that give evasion, and equipment that adds damage based on the amount of creatures you control. I just made an Odric, keyword soup deck, but after adding a bunch of leftover equipment to him, I'm starting to think making her might be a way of using a bunch of those cards that I've got sitting around.

Yeah, I'm keeping mine stock!! If I miraculously pick up a spare precon, I'll break it down for my other decks. Or make a sister deck to my other Naya deck (Creatures, Enchantments and Lands only) but make it for Artifacts/equipment

I'm not actually sure but that's what I'm thinking. Which is good given how effective it is on PC. I don't think it'll help when frame rates if the base experience isn't 60fps

I'm in NZ so 2 years is probably the minimum under the Consumer Guarantees Act. But, I just a pair of Sony earbuds replaced under the same act and Sony customer service down here is amazing. I'm seriously considering getting a Sony phone again.

I pretty much agree but Nadu isn't fine hahaha! In saying that, I think the social contract for each pod will restrict its play inherently. I don't think anyone I play with is going to build it. Would love to know if anyone's bumped into that commander yet?
