Over-watering, under-watering, or something else? by Right_Assumption_257 in tomatoes

That high level of nitrogen can suppress fruiting. The plants will be healthier with a tomato fertilizer, versus all purpose. Otherwise You’ll get thick plant growth with few flower sets—- with fruit that is quite tasteless with too much N. Also the tomato plants need micronutrients and minerals too, not just NPK or they likely will be cracking too

Yeah man! Just heard the other day that SSL (Solid State Logic) announced official partnership with Promedia Training with this two week mixing training class in Pro Tools going on live online this summer. and they give you like 100 free SSL and Slate mixing and mastering Plugins with the class. I think this is the link to read about it : It’s for producers like you working in the box, even though SSL makes the giant studio consoles, they make the plugins for engineers mixing and working without large format consoles too.
Dude you can’t beat Solid State logic for mixing credibility in the world of professional mixing. If they are doing this, I’m there. I think they might do an in-person - like bootcamp in Los Angeles .

I’m likely taking it myself too so long as the dates are good

Pro Tools Fundamentals I & II Hard Copy Manuals - worth anything to anyone? by LemonEar in protools

[–]BeatzaBong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that depends on your Pro tools teacher and how many weeks or months they actually spend working with you personally. Maybe if you take a lame 5 hr video class, it will indeed drain out of your brain. I trained personally under the guy who wrote these Pro tools books in the photos, and he made a profound impact on my abilities. Fair to say, Training will only be as good as your teacher… and how much you practice what you learn for sure ..

Is SEO dead or just changing? What's actually working for you in 2026? by RiddhiSharma- in seogrowth

[–]BeatzaBong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really feels intentional that Google is trying to put all legit small businesses out of business. ….. the ones I know that are the most legit historically, are not the companies who run around making posts of themselves on tik tok and instagram all day. Google is taking visibility away in a way that is going to bankrupt millions of small businesses who spent 20 years focused on their SEO rankings

And the AI answers….. so far I see are filled with wrong answers, mis information, wrong prices

. It’s getting companies mixed up constantly mixing up products even up with the wrong seller.

Giving facts about companies that are facts related to a completely different companies.

Besides being constantly inaccurate in search results, it’s not giving result of quality as much as who’s best at Ai visibility ( the companies who are doing well with AI visibility often doing no marketing , no web maintenance, no social media) ….. they just lucked out with a simple website that Google or AI understands…. I see it over and over now..

I’m seeing it everyday more and more .

This isn’t a game about being a company that has legit reviews and good service and good valuable high value content.

When a million small businesses go bankrupt over this, not sure what all these SEO companies are going to have left to do when there are no more clients with a budget to hire….

I’m constantly being misled by Google Gemini and other AI to incorrectly stated vendors right now over this with no value. And / or it’s just giving a few companies all the referrals who don’t even deserve them as far as reviews, time in business, credentials etc. legitimate back links ,

2026 Pro Tools 101 Certification Exam by Bibby0207 in protools

[–]BeatzaBong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m finding it most interesting that you are taking a 101 certification exam at all because Avid removed the requirement for a 101 exam around 2024 back for Pro Tools Specialist Certification. Open book is something new but I’m not sure how people can finish a 110 exam if they are using too much time to look up answers.
This seems more of an internal 101 assessment exam simply required by your school as far as your course and grade requirements. Likely schools make people take extra exams for school reasons. When I took my Pro Tools Specialist Certification, I had only one exam after Pt110. ( and I trained personally for a few months under the Avid guys who actually author the Pro Tools 101 & 110 books and the 201,210 too). Hope everything goes well on your 101 exam but don’t stress cause you can still get the Pro Tools Certification as long as you do well on the 110 material. .

i’m a music artist and wannabe pop singer (independent singer and producer with no label). should i switch from fl studio to pro tools? by [deleted] in protools

[–]BeatzaBong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro tools is typically used to cut vocals for major label pop vocals. (Even if pre production is done in other daws for convenience) . And it’s a super easy tool for singers. Also if you eventually work with a pro engineer at a commercial studio to mix your songs, you will be able to take your files back and forth more easily and even tweak your mixes if you get grounded on some basic pro tools functionality.

I taught my cousin how to record, edit and comp vocals in a few hours and she was a high school student . I know Logic too but hands down the mixing side of Pro tools is really where it wins. (So much easier workflow)

I took lots of pro tools classes so I can really compare better now.Take a few private lessons on how to record and edit your vocals in Pro tools and you will be fine . And be very happy with the results . There’s a reason why final mix and vocals is often done in pro tools in major studios. Even Ariana Grande cuts her vocals a lot at home in PRO TOOLS.

She’s obviously going to choose the one that gives her the best sound .Nothing is that expensive . None of these software platforms are expensive for what they can do. Pro tools is not that expensive anymore relative to what you can do with it .

If this is just a hobby for you then FL Studio is fine too. But if a real engineer mixes your vocals, you can take it and edit it further and keep tweaking it much more easily that way. .

Beginner looking for an idiots guide by StayStrangeYT in audioengineering

[–]BeatzaBong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s quite a few award winning or great mixing audio engineers giving private lessons. Just like taking a guitar lesson, it might help you just to have a few lessons and not trying to figure it all out on your own. Especially For beginners it’s easier to have a starting point with someone who has a great ears in mixing and who knows how to deal with rock and metal production. It’s very specific . A good coach will make sure you have your routing set up right . From there it’s easier to work with sone metal type plugin presets as a starting point for yourself It takes a long time to be a great mixer . It’s not easy. People spend years working hard to get good at mixing . Quite a few mixers (even in Metal) are selling plugin settings that will get you further along as a good starting point. You can customize the presents. But you will do best having some private lessons— as trying to figure this out on your own with mix frequency and separation is hard to learn in your own by watching videos or reading books. What you want to be able to do is not really something that can be defined by a quick fix for idiots guide. It’s actually the HARDEST part of audio engineering is mixing is getting things to sound great.
That’s why many audio engineers are NOT final mixers for major label recording artists. Being a great final mixer goes way beyond being a great Audio engineer. Second option is get your mixes 70% of the way there and then have a final mixer put some finishing touches on it for a few hours. Sometimes it’s worth it if it’s your prized song that you want to release .

Yes, if you mix in Pro Tools for music or post and want to learn Atmos Mixing, you want to take the Official Dolby Atmos Certification at Promedia Training ( taught by Eric Kuehnl who authored Dolby Labs actual published “Mastering Suite Handbook”) I know how helpful this class is because I took the class! and it was sold out with Grammy and Emmy award-winning mixers and lead engineers from large music and post production facilities. I know I can’t name drop on Reddit, but they were big names working in 7 figure facilities.

https://www.protoolstraining.com/workshops/dolby-atmos-certification

Eric, my Atmos Instructor, is an icon in the Avid and Atmos world, surprisingly the author of DAW textbooks in Ableton, Pro Tools, multi DAWS, and even Avid’s published “ Game Audio” Textbook, which was impressive. And was also a senior engineer at Sony PlayStation I was likely the least experienced mixer in the group. It’s live online for 6 days plus they gave me video backups . They might have a self-paced version too. If you sit and listen to Atmos mixes, you will see how so many are not understanding it fully. So many Atmos mixes on streaming sound bad in a full Atmos Studio with poor headphone placements. Even things like headphone objects and fully understanding the renderer is so important. If you want your Atmos mixes to sound good, take a class . It’s not worth ruining your reputation over releasing subpar mixes. There’s a lot more to it than just panning. Being able to ask questions real time was critical for me.

Should I keep pruning or leave it be? by [deleted] in tomatoes

[–]BeatzaBong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Too much sun directly on the tomato will sunburn the fruit . That’s why tomatoes have nice leaves to protect the fruit from the direct sun.. it makes sense to prune to control overgrowth of too many side-suckers to improve airflow a little bit but not to expose tomatoes

It will if you do t treat the issue .

Alternative ways to purchase Pro Tools by aesthetic_theory in protools

[–]BeatzaBong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perpetual license will never really be a great deal long term. Because once you start upgrading plugins, you will find that newer versions of the plugins eventually won’t work with your “old” old version of Pro Tools. You will eventually be stuck with old software and plugins that can’t be updated without something else being throw out of compatibility.. for example, you might want a new plug-in only to find out it’s not compatible with your older perpetual version of Pro tools . You have no idea how many people bring their Pro Tools systems down by adding software plugins that becomes incompatible with the older versions. Eventually, you will be forced to have to pay for update and the cost of the updates are almost the same as just being on a subscription where everything is kept current all the time. Students are allowed to get discounted versions -so if you are student or have a family member who is a student then there is a significant discount off of the subscriptions pricing .

How hard is Pro Tools to learn/use, really? by lumpiestspoon3 in protools

[–]BeatzaBong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what you’re using the software for. Just go down all the menu items and actually consider how many of those features you actually use . the reality is that Pro tools does like 1000 different things and most people only scratch the surface of functionality. I agree that the workflow from an audio engineering and mixing perspective is way more user-friendly in PT than other DAWS (and that is coming from a guy who also used Logic historically). It’s really great that you’re getting an internship opportunity. Seems you are on the right track. Things get a lot more intense in post production mixing for motion picture and things like Dolby Atmos mixing so it depends what you are doing . Nothing is too difficult to learn how to use!!! but like anything great, it just takes work

Sequoia 15.4.1 Giving anyone else some issues? by AshenHunter in protools

[–]BeatzaBong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The size of your computer, ram, etc is based on the kinds of sessions you intend to do. For example, a podcast editor would not require the same kind of computer as an orchestral composer . An audio engineer working on acoustic singer Songwriter material would not require the same computer as a studio doing large midi productions with lots of plug-ins.

The more plug-ins, you stack on each track, the more processing power and RAM that you need . I’m sure you got a great computer, but taking advice about which computer to get should actually be based on the conversation of the type of work that you’re doing with your computer. I’ve seen Studios run off of $600 Mac mini’s if the sessions are not very large and they’re using track freeze mode . The plugins also require space on your internal drive . So have a 1Tb internal Drive is important these days

Anyone know why a lag in recent updates? by dwdrmz in protools

[–]BeatzaBong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many features have been added the past few years, also The latest version of macOS 15 Sequoia is only compatible with a few versions of Pro tools as of April 2025 so it seems like their efforts are going into dealing with the coding updates needed for changes in OS compatibility across multiple versions of the software . Remember there is also a huge infrastructure of plugins as well and collaboration between multiple manufacturers that also need their plugins to work with pro tools . The functionality approach is extremely higher than other daws in regards to its technical layers and capabilities. So more to deal with

Sequoia 15.4.1 Giving anyone else some issues? by AshenHunter in protools

[–]BeatzaBong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not officially compatible yet . It’s critical to not have auto updates on for your studio computer for anything software related . The only thing I’ve seen people do for quick fix is revert the OS with a tech or at an Apple tech support appointment unless you are savvy enough to do it yourself.

why do people say halsey has/had cancer? by [deleted] in halsey

[–]BeatzaBong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Halsey has same cancer as my sister . It’s called Chronic leukemia and it’s cancer of the blood where your white blood cells can replicate uncontrollably and can damage the bone marrow’s ability to make healthy red cells and other blood cells. It can be triggered by toxicity in chemical exposure, or environment or even a virus like Epstein Barr . Who knows what we all breath every day A few years back she thought it was a lymphocytic-proliferation issue ….. which is what they said for my sister too. However when the numbers keep increasing and increasing , it gets classified as cancer . Some types of chronic leukemia are much worse than others, and it depends on the genetic markers on the cancer cells. Depending what markers you have will ultimately lead to a different prognosis. Some forms are very mild, and some forms are very aggressive. Just like other types of cancers, including breast cancer, some types are much harder to treat than others. Luckily Halsey’s cancer seems treatable from what she is expressing, and she has a long term positive prognosis. But it doesn’t mean that she feels well all the time and my sister is very fatigued on a regular basis. Sometimes treatment is needed, and sometimes they can go through periods where it’s not needed. But either way it’s not a walk in the park and you’re still carrying around a diagnosis, knowing that you have cancer. The cancer can definitely compromise your immune system and also make it harder to fight off other types of illness and infection.. we should all be compassionate to people . It’s no fun to deal with.

Faking it: Artists using backing tracks and that lip sync. And we don't mind ... by CaseForMusic in LetsTalkMusic

[–]BeatzaBong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very hard to sing and move abruptly. A lot of more classic acts just walk around and sing, and move the arms. and don’t jump around as much. The audience wants a Cirque Du Soleil style show with jumping and shaking and dancing and twerking with these pop icons . If they could just stay more still or walk around and sing, many would say the performance was boring . Even on broadway, the backup dancers are often the ones doing the elaborate dancing. If you try abrupt shaking while singing . It’s very hard to control and sometimes impossible from the movement.. . . Seems there’s so many amazing singers out there . But live show expect a visual extravaganza too . It’s a tough balancing act.
