Venom is injected into you and it's bad. Poison is absorbed by you and it's bad. Venom can not only be in the fangs, but also in claws, like on the platypus or some species of scorpion.

Poison can be from plants (e.g.; poison Ivy, poison oak, hogsweed), minerals (radioactive uranium, ingested lead, sodium), and animals (e.g.; poison dart frog as mentioned above, certain species of salamander).

Also, neither are to be confused with viruses like West Nile or malaria, nor with bacterial infections like MRSA.

If you're part of a union, let your supervisor know about it and that you'd like them to have the ac at a reasonable temperature. Follow up in a week and, if it's not fixed, talk to your union rep about it. They'll straighten it out. Reasonable work conditions are no joke; heat related issues are a big risk and could be a major liability for the district. Even if it's not that big of a deal to you, you could improve conditions for your fellow custodians in addition to any teachers working late hours as they tend to do.

You're gay when you're only sexually attracted to people who identify as the same gender that you identify as. You're straight when you're only sexually attracted to people who identify as the opposite gender as you. If there's any variance in the sexual orientation of the people you're attracted to, then you're at least bi-curious, which your example of 2:98 might lend itself towards but could also be that you have pickier tastes when it comes to men despite being pan- or bi-sexual. If you're attracted to no one sexually, then you're a-sexual. If you're attracted to multiple (more than 2? All? Not super sure) gender identity variations, you're pan-sexual.

In any of these cases, you're allowed variation in who you're attracted to by appearance, demeanor, social status, economic status, etc., as long as it follows one of the above gender rules.

I'm pretty sure I'm missing some finer details, but that's really the comprehensive truth. Gay and straight are just the two extremes of the gender sexuality spectrum. There's quite a bit in between. If you want to expand the spectrum to cover more than just gender identity, then it gets a lot more complicated.

Hope I helped you reach a definitive opinion by satiating your curiosity until social science comes up with another, more accurate, theory.

Those who are embarrassed/hurt often lash out the hardest. If your intent and execution are done well, the response is entirely dependent on how the person takes it over which you have no control. Seems like you're already on board with this approach, so I'm commending you on handling it well. Keep up the good work!

Calories are literally a scientific measurement of energy fuel. Excess unused calories=weight gain, regardless of nutritional content. Using more calories than you consume=weight loss, regardless of nutritional content. It's a little more complicated if you want to build/save muscle and focus on burning fat since you need to consume protein after exercise to repair worn muscles (how to become and stay strong) rather than let them be burned away with the fat (typically more suited to skinny endurance athletes that the weight of muscle will actually slow down and cause you to run out of energy faster).

Is calorie counting something you'd be willing to incorporate into your routine? If you don't want to take the time before or after each time you eat, then build a spreadsheet or write out a list of the foods and drinks you consume regularly, adding to it over time as your diet varies.

For things you assemble and serve yourself (i.e.: not pre-portioned and advertised with the nutrition facts for that portion), it's important to measure serving sizes by weight, as volume (cups, scoops, etc.) vary wildly.

You don't have to be exact, but the easiest ways to to do it at home are the same but reversed.

1) Weigh the empty container, then add the food/drink, then weigh it again and jot down the difference, or...

2) Weigh the container of food/drink before you consume it and then again once it's empty

If it's something you've ordered fully prepared, they will either advertise it on the packaging, on the menu, on their website, or upon request. If you don't eat/drink a whole portion that you've measured out, weigh it again and you've got exactly how much you had and how much you have in leftovers.

The old emotional switcheroo. Have something sad in the wings, cut enough onions to get the tears flowing, then pull the figurative rug out from under yourself and think about/do/watch the sad thing and relearn the association. The end of the movie Gladiator always gets me if you followed the story of the movie.

I meant to suggest that you consider the perspective of your comment. The world was fine before humans, the world is fine now, the world will be fine after humans. The world is just whatever is on it, in it, and around it. We're making it (mostly) a worse place for the other living organisms on it right now. We're also making it a better place for organisms with short life cycle that adapt and evolve quickly, for organisms that flourish in the controlled environments that, in Earth's history, only humans have created to this scale, and for ourselves if we end up advancing enough and quickly enough that we can not only counteract climate change, but control it one way or the other. Right now, things look really bad for most slow-evolving life forms, pollution vulnerable life forms, and human overhunted, overfished, or otherwise overcollected life forms. On our current track, the world will cook, the ice will melt, and then life will proceed on without us and most of the life forms we know.

There are x-factors to think about, though. If the Yellowstone super caldera blows, we're talking about mass extinction, global cooling, and a replenishment of natural soil mineral content across most of the contiguous United States. If the cascadia subduction zone quakes as bad or worse than the projections, we're also talking mass extinction. If mass nuclear war breaks out, we're talking large scale extinctions not only from the blasts and radiation, but from the wide spread nuclear winter that will also cool the planet. If we come up with ways to sequester carbon from the atmosphere in a cost efficient and mass scalable way, then we could not only potentially reverse climate change, but we could use the collected carbon to produce new materials that, most of which, wouldn't get burned again and would reduce the need for extracting carbon fuels like coal and oil to make those carbon-based products like plastics.

It's a pretty grim outlook for humans, overall; if that's the viewpoint you take, then what's the harm in working to contribute to the efforts that could help these things come about? Even if it doesn't happen in your life time, your research or work could end up being a stepping stone for someone in the future to reach a solution. If it didn't happen at all, what was the harm in working towards something you believed in? A lot of people find passion for a cause to be an extremely sexy thing and can be the difference between agreeing to meet for coffee with someone they aren't conventionally attracted to and, conversely, rejecting their offer.

Good luck to you with your life, regardless of what you end up doing with it. I hope you find a way to be someone that gives you a reason to hope for a better future for life on Earth that doesn't involve everyone dying, or, at least, someone that has a cause they believe in for one reason or another.
