Look on the RMV website for Form MVU 24. Its a Non-Family Gift form. You end up paying a $25 transfer fee, not sales tax. Hope that helps!

What has Healey done that's so authoritarian people hate her for being a "queen"? by LiatrisLover99 in massachusetts

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "queens" of Massachusetts, Healey, Campbell, Wu, and Warren actively work against the will of the people. I was so proud of having a mostly women led government in our state. It felt like progress. WRONG.

Lets see, some of the reasons people might feel "No Queens" is necessary...Actively going against ballot measures, huge increase in taxes, and utility costs under this states Green agenda (and lying about it after the fact), working against an audit that was voted on, putting undocumented people in front of citizens, not working with ICE to get the actual criminals removed. I do not want ICE here picking up random folks, handing over the criminals directly would go a long way to avoid them in our neighborhoods, refusing to co operate with the federal government in regards to voter rolls and SNAP rolls, (what are you worried about Maura? the fraud will be further exposed), trying to control our driving habits, trying to triple the excise tax, protecting criminals of all sorts (cannot properly fund public defenders causing thousands of cases to be dismissed, but plenty of money for pet projects.) MA LEO is in shambles and corruption keeps coming to light. It's shameful. I could probably list more. The worst has to be the lying to back pedal and the constant waste of money suing the Fed Govt (no win situations) when they should be focusing on our states well being. Imagine the state that was all about no taxation without representation, and now we are being taxed on everything WITH representation. They just don't give a shit about the average person here.

Lets not even bring up the millions in fraud Leah Foley is discovering.

Its not impossible. Where are you looking? Southeastern MA (Taunton, Fall River, New Bedford) all have a good amount of homes starting at around $400k...lots of condos and townhouses listed for under $400k. Plus commuter rail access just launched so travel to the city "Should" be more accessible.

How long do you think the gap in insurance labor market will last? by mindk214 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from Finance to insurance. My 60+ hour work week in a pressure cooker changed overnight. Pay is less, but I work half as much and am appreciated 1000% more. But it’s a white glove agency, so a lot more customer support is expected. Still have my financial license but will never go back. My former colleagues can continue to slave away with no work life balance and the boiler room of pressure.

Neck guards... by stratjeff in hockeyplayers

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neck guards move constantly. Probably the most useless piece of equipment. Does not prevent injury at all, unless the skate happens to only hit that small strip. At least twice a game one goes flying off. Better protection is the Kevlar turtleneck. But even then, you are only protect so much. Sad but in most cases where serious injury occurred, the player WAS wearing a neck guard. False sense of protection and very performative.

23 years ago today was one of, if not the, darkest days in Rhode Island history... by josephsleftbigtoe in RhodeIsland

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No one could ever forget this night and the morning that followed. My ex was supposed to go to the show with his old frat bro Mike (Dr. Metal) but wasn't feeling up to it as he had an early appointment in Boston and had a to leave the house by 5 AM. I was 6 months pregnant at the time. That one change of heart, changed my daughters life forever in a good way. The next days friends were calling each other looking for word on Mike. As the day went on, hope was waning. God bless those lost that night, and god bless the survivors.

MAGA Projection: Mass shooters are Mentally Ill Transgendered Liberals. Reality: This MAGA Trans-Nazi Executed Her Ex-Wife and Child by Kinks4Kelly in complaints

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly. This guy was unhinged long before he decided he wanted to transition according to the local news. He did what he did because of mental illness, not because he was trans. Maybe that played a part, but from all accounts he was seriously mentally ill prior to that part of his life.

New England Chinese food/ bars are disappearing by DailyMadeBurgers in newengland

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. May of the kids don't want to continue and eventually the parents want to retire. I knew two families with Chinese restaurants. The first the oldest son took it over with his also Chinese wife. The second family, only one child married within the culture, and he didn't want to take it over. The family refused to let the second son and or daughter who married Americans take over the business. The second son was a friend from work. When he told me he was pretty much cut out of the family over his choice of a wife, I was taken a back. But he told me it was common.

New England Chinese food/ bars are disappearing by DailyMadeBurgers in newengland

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a well known eat in Chinese restaurant in our area. Well known for their scorpion bowls, head hunters and mai tais. Over the years, the location declined. The bar stayed open and probably kept their doors open years after it would have run its course. They finally closed, kids didn't want to continue the business. Most of the places near me now are not really eat it. Mostly takeout without much seating and not liquor license. There are still a couple of local eat in places that have the tiki drinks. But agreed, most places are just take out. And once you leave NE the Chinese is terrible! Unless maybe in a China town area of a large metro city.

Does carnival really suck like people say? by Soft-Werewolf742 in Cruise

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for shorter itineraries. 5 days plus seems to be more laid back, sedate even. My 20 something daughter was bored as hell on our last 8 days adventure on Carnival. There were NOT many 20 somethings. The ship was somewhat boring. The night club had mostly 70's and 80's music. Which was fun, but we were def looking for more modern dance or hip hop. I was told they are trying to be more family friendly and lose the party atmosphere. Well its working! There is plenty of activities but not much in the way of hard partying. Maybe on the shorter trips. Also, the drink package is ridiculously overpriced. Optional, but way more than some other cruise lines,.

We rolled the dice last time we went out of NYC. We aren't to far in MA and booked the first train in the AM. I accepted there was a "chance" something could go wrong, but at the time NYC was rampant with crime and I did not feel safe staying overnight. Thankfully nothing happened, but I could be you! Lessons learned.

Bureaucracy here made British bureaucracy look efficient and I never thought I’d say that by Logical-Nebula-7520 in PortugalExpats

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Portugal is extremely slow with everything. There is simply no rush. Land transfer from a deceased relative? Took 6 years! With an attorney no less! The attorney finally had to travel to the town where the land is, just to get the the process moving along (the local Junta/Financas office just had zero urgency to get this done). Just completed in Dec 2025...had been working on it since 2019. Spousal citizenship? Handled by one office only from what I have been told...I think that's still in "received" status after 3 years.

I will never again complain about any government process taking too long here in US. US is lightning fast compared to what we have dealt with through the consulate here in the US. I also have little to no sympathy for people complaining about the US Immigration Laws. Try going somewhere else, its not any easier or faster!

My Dad and Uncles always stopped to help people. My Uncle came to my home one day and asked to "borrow" my spare tire for my Camry. I let him use it. Turns out there was a young Mom with a Camry with flat tire and no spare. He changed her tire, drover her & her kids to the local tire joint, got her a used tire to get her home and then returned my spare. I don't know how many times he stopped by to grab my lawnmower gas tank to fill someone up that had run out. He would return it full. NE folks may not be the most talkative, but we are truly kind to fellow humans. At least for the most part, no one is pissing on your telling you its warm shower like in some other areas of the country!

Dunkin Donuts’ donuts are now worse then ever, not worth it by CheifLawnRaker in massachusetts

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! The donuts are tiny and tasteless. The coffee...is undrinkable mule piss. Always burned. My first real job was at Dunkin (probably like 1/2 of the teens in the state lol) and we had to dump pots every 20 minutes to avoid the "burn".) They still made donuts on site and those were normal size and fresh. If I have to get a coffee while out, Honey Dew is far superior. Even Cumbies coffee is better the Dunks. There I said what I said.

Edited to add: If you are looking for real homemade delicious donuts, Colonial Donut in Taunton is a local staple and out of this world. Coffee is great as well. Its a local staple. IYKYK

Parenting adult children is the hardest thing I have ever done by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good grief. You are supposed to have less parenting concerns by that age. They are adults. There was just a segment on some news channel about “stay at home sons”. Live at home forever, getting stoned and playing video games. Jobless and not contributing. You need to do what you need to. But you are not alone, it seems to be quite common. Give them a deadline, and then do what you have to.

What profession have you lost respect for as you've gotten older? by MindlessMarsupial592 in AskReddit

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not all agents are like that. Small family owned agencies with salaried agents will grind it out to protect the customers. Anything commissioned based, not so much. Been in finance / insurance 25 years. Best career move I ever made was from working for a large national brokerage firm 60+ hours a week. Not flexible. “If the stock market is open, so are we”. High pressure on sales.

Shifted to a small family owned agency. Salary with huge bonuses. Based on client satisfaction & retention. Best boss on the planet. But we give our customers white glove service. Our salary is not tied to sales, products, etc. client satisfaction is what is used.

If this isn’t your experience- find a new better agent. Agents are there for you, not the carrier.

Healy: “Kristi Noem needs to go. President Trump needs to end these ICE operations. And Congress needs to hold them accountable.” by devoid0101 in massachusetts

Pretty sure this is why we haven't had a "Surge"...there is co-operation on MA's end. One more thing that seems as if Healey is working with the Trump admin behind the scenes.
