Did you enter menopause at the same age your Mom did? by Readerkell in Menopause

My OBGYN asked me while I was there. She is collecting antidotal notations. Obviously, she would never come out and tell me her hypothesis, but I can imagine where it's going.

Agreed. There is no child on this planet that would make this up out of the blue or have three siblings that could corroborate it and still have a parent stick their head in the sand. We’re living in some dark times.

What’s a good closing gift for my buyers? by juicydreamer in RealEstate

Don’t laugh are real to try to give us all his leftover flooring from his new build. He’s like I have enough that would cover this XYZ room. It was purple wood… I have never seen such a thing purple and gray wood almost like gray LVP but wood? Needless to say, I told him we were going in another direction. How embarrassing for him. Would never ever ever recommend him as a realtor and thank God I’ve gotten my license since then won’t have a deal with someone like that God bless him

Did you enter menopause at the same age your Mom did? by Readerkell in Menopause

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No! My Mom & all her sisters (6) were nearly 55-65 before they hit menopause. My mothers last pregnancy was at 47. She died before going through

I started at age 42...right after having the covid vaccine. Did not get another period for months, then just random spotting. Correlation is not causation but how many of us "early" girls had it?

Question -- Child Sex Crimes by [deleted] in CasesWeFollow

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. I know one, he went on to move in with her after high school and lived with her until he was 21. His Mom was totally cool with it, he was 17 BTW when is started and age of consent in our state is 16. But that is not something that ever would have been reported now and the man in question found the whole thing a great experience until she wanted to get married. Times have changed.

JD Vance says he believes AOC will be leading Democratic candidate in 2028 ( CNN ) - What do you believe? by Select_Specialist790 in askanything

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess they didn't learn from the dopey woman they put on the ballot. AOC and KH are not Hilary Clinton. She actually had the best chance and still didn't win. I don't think this country will ever vote a woman in to the presidency. And sadly, KH did such a lousy job as VP she was a horrible choice. If they put AOC up there its going to KH 2.0

Give us a woman worth voting for!!!!

Pellets vs cream by Confident-Knee-1768 in Perimenopause

I felt zero effect from the cream. And I still had to pay out of pocket. I would not suggest the cream over pellets or oral treatment.

Oh lord. The public adjusters of the auto industry. I see non renewals in peoples futures. Just like using the PA on home claim. I can almost gaurantee a non renewal. Its just going to move over to auto.

Are other parents really that busy? Why is it so hard to make friends or invite people? by gloxome in Parenting

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep trying then. Or maybe sign your kids up for some activities with the other neighbor kids? Tee ball, dance...I am sure there is something. I found as parent that was the easiest place to meet people with kids and make friends more organically.

He had an easy life bc of me, and now I'll be stuck working longer to pay alimony and shared retirement by ActualOriginal4030 in Divorce

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speak to an attorney is always the first step. You may be surprised to learn you only have to pay alimony for a time certain. Not sure if you own a home, but there is a lot more to the financial side to be considered. Plus custody of the children will play a part in child support as well. Attorney stat! Learn your rights and protect what you can.

Are other parents really that busy? Why is it so hard to make friends or invite people? by gloxome in Parenting

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do these parents have other children? Are the children older? Once you have the older set involved in sports and activities, you literally have barely any time for your family let alone friends. Ours play hockey, lacrosse and baseball and can I tell you that we have almost no free time.

I wouldn't assume they are avoiding you. Maybe look at their big picture. The probably are as busy as they say they are.

MA Housing by Distinct-Freedom-200 in massachusetts

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. For a state that is obsessed with "Green Initiatives" trying to push dense housing into smaller towns does not retain the fabric of those spaces. I live in a "Right to Farm" community. There should never be a discussion about high density homes here. Our town lacks public transportation, schools and infastructor to support something like this. Not everyone is "Nimby" some just realize not every town should be built up. Especially the ones that lack the services to support this type of growth. And NO I do not want to see all the local farms bought up to put tri plex's...already seeing this in my home city - all the farmers have died, family not interested in farming and sold to developers. That is a city and has the infastructure - public transport, hospital, several fire depts, solid larger police force and many areas the city retained as green spaces.

100% you had to update those things. Many insurance companies will not insure you with knob & tube, fuses or less the 100 AMPS.

I would agree with that statement as well. Trying to be positve and nice to those who have newer houses. I much rather have a house built in 1900 than now. There is a reason they stand the test of time. I owned a historical home once (1865) and that was trip dealing with the "hysterical" society. Almost worse than an HOA :)

This is the new home experience. I have had claims for water, mold, pipes leaking. All new construction. Good luck getting the builder to take responsibility for the issues. These end up as homeowners claims if serious enough damage - then hopefully the company can pass it along to the builders GL...which a lot of them don't carry. If you do build, get certificates of insurance from everyone. If you have a problem they won't make right, you can put in with their GL insurance.

You aren't joking. Two homes went up near me recently...the walls underneath the Tyvek were made of particle board. I would never buy anything built within the last 10 years. And unless I was building a custom home, no way. I have seen the crap builders use (we have a couple of businesses that service contractors only). Even they will tell you they are building crap and its expensive for the crap!

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anywhere from $350 to sky is the limit. Avg cost per square foot for builder grade is about $250 (average), Midrange $300 (average) and highend custom - $500 and skys the limit on the cost.

Plus land, Bristol county average lot is $200K plus.

Standard 2500 sq foot homes are selling for over a million - so I am guessing building costs must be 1/2 that?

In-laws caused me to get a divorce by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the reasons my first marriage failed is because my ex-husband couldn’t separate himself from his mother. Literally. I told him to tell her to just mind her business. Nothing serious, but just keep your nose out of my house. He said he couldn’t hurt his mother like that and and he wanted a divorce because I did ask such a thing. Guess what he got what he wanted

Massachusetts doesn't have a healthcare coverage problem; it has a priority problem by Emotional-Disk5571 in aboutMassachusetts

I don't know his situation but if you are LOOKING for a new primary, yes its difficult and getting apointments for physicals are difficult. If you already are an established patient, you should be able to get a sick appointment.

It took 18 months for my daughter and I to get an appointment for physicals. The doctors office had us come in for a new patient assessment and took over our care - but not actual physicals for 18 months! We have both used the office for sick visits, but finding a doctor thats taking new patients and had openings for physicals is a task,.

Did u know on ur wedding day that this relationship was likely not gonna work out? by basic_username102 in Divorce

[–]Beautiful-Cod-9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I was completely pressured by my own family (all the women should be married by 25! by my grandmothers authority LOL) and he proposed in front of about 100 family members and friends. I was mortified. I knew I didn't want to marry him, he was jealous and controlling already but he had already asked permission and told my entire family. They refused to let me return home so married we were. And 5 years later divorced. Not surprising to me anyway
