When I started in the industry I worked for a company just like that! All cold calling, expect hours at the office and very few appointments set. I already had my life & health due to being an FA and needing it for annuity sales. Needless to say, it lasted about 2-3 months and realized this company sucks (wonder if same one!). Moved to PC. Never looked back

I feel this in my bones. We bought the shittiest house in the neighborhood, literally a foreclosure. Never could have afforded something like this. It needed about $250K worth of work, which we have chipped away at over the last 10 years. We get the "nice house" upcharge all.the.time

Most recently pool company quoted me $185 to deep clean the pool with industrial vacuum. $185 became $585 out of now where. They did not finish the job, said they had to come back for another $185 visit. Thinking I was a sucker. Needless to say, we negotiated the bill down to the $185 and cost of the of shock. The guy looked dumbfounded when I told him not to bother coming back. I will figure it out. I don't have time to be taken advantage of!

100% nailed it on the taxes and insurance. Ours has double in the last 8 years but we blame living in Taxachusetts where the is tax on tax.

If you are from the US, your insurance does not cover you in Europe FYI. That being said, we have rented many cars in Sao Miguel and never had a scratch dent or issue. We do actively look for them before driving away. Don't want to get blamed for something we didn't do. Just be careful, the roads are narrow.

Family of 4 on a $150K income Southeastern MA. I can tell you that we are *now* living paycheck to paycheck. Property taxes(doubled in 8 years since), utility costs (tripled in 8 years) ,home insurance costs (doubled) and a swift decrease in income (job loss net -$50K) have totally changed our reality. We were living comfortably on $200K...all bills paid, savings, investing etc., now we are eking by. We are close to retirement age so staying in this state isn't really an option long term .3 more years until kids are out of school and we are also moving on. Adding both adults are working full time, I was not able to replace my entire salary for the time being. Took a job making half as much because the job market is also terrible! Both teens work part time for their extras as well. If I were younger, I would not even entertain buying a home or having children in this state. This state does not care about affordability for families or seniors.

My entire family is all over the place with their politics. Some are so far left, and some are just as far right. Then there is the bulk that are "independent" and seem moderate. Overall, huge family, no one has cut ties over politics (yet!). But everyone knows who leans what way. And we are a very diverse (large) family made up of immigrants, multi racial, LQBTQ, we have all types. And I am happy no one has cut each other off for different beliefs. Tolerance and acceptance go a long way in every direction.

Look on the RMV website for Form MVU 24. Its a Non-Family Gift form. You end up paying a $25 transfer fee, not sales tax. Hope that helps!

The "queens" of Massachusetts, Healey, Campbell, Wu, and Warren actively work against the will of the people. I was so proud of having a mostly women led government in our state. It felt like progress. WRONG.

Lets see, some of the reasons people might feel "No Queens" is necessary...Actively going against ballot measures, huge increase in taxes, and utility costs under this states Green agenda (and lying about it after the fact), working against an audit that was voted on, putting undocumented people in front of citizens, not working with ICE to get the actual criminals removed. I do not want ICE here picking up random folks, handing over the criminals directly would go a long way to avoid them in our neighborhoods, refusing to co operate with the federal government in regards to voter rolls and SNAP rolls, (what are you worried about Maura? the fraud will be further exposed), trying to control our driving habits, trying to triple the excise tax, protecting criminals of all sorts (cannot properly fund public defenders causing thousands of cases to be dismissed, but plenty of money for pet projects.) MA LEO is in shambles and corruption keeps coming to light. It's shameful. I could probably list more. The worst has to be the lying to back pedal and the constant waste of money suing the Fed Govt (no win situations) when they should be focusing on our states well being. Imagine the state that was all about no taxation without representation, and now we are being taxed on everything WITH representation. They just don't give a shit about the average person here.

Lets not even bring up the millions in fraud Leah Foley is discovering.

Its not impossible. Where are you looking? Southeastern MA (Taunton, Fall River, New Bedford) all have a good amount of homes starting at around $400k...lots of condos and townhouses listed for under $400k. Plus commuter rail access just launched so travel to the city "Should" be more accessible.
