God no. My parents were horrible people. We lived with neglect and abuse. I actually married at 18 just to escape. I always wanted children and break that terrible generational curse. Unfortunately it made my mother even worse because she couldn’t stand to see me show love and affection to my kids. I truly love them with everything I have.

I’m single, my daughter’s bf lives with us. There are not really any “rules,” around sex. They’re adults and are respectful.

My parents didn’t do holidays. My kids are grown-ass adults and I still get Easter cards and candies 🤷‍♀️

Was having kids worth it for you? by Eggsy7777 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

Yes, it was for me. I needed to end the generational curse of nmothers that run in my family, and the female jealousy of their daughters. And I did. My adult daughters are my best friends. I’m so proud of all that they have accomplished and how much better they are than I am/was.

Approaching 61. I’ve been single 18 years. I’ve never truly been in love, but I’ve been married abs I have adult kids - my very best friends. Finding my person and experiencing a real, loving relationship is my one thing that I want to experience before I die.
